Who Are We?
Wider Circle aims to address an epidemic affecting older Americans: Loneliness and isolation, while providing support and resources.
Loneliness affects nearly half of older Americans a number that is set to grow by 40% to 35 Million when all Baby Boomers have retired. It causes depression and is worse to health than smoking 12 cigarettes a day. Wider Circle’s solution is the Connect for Life Program, in which we form and manage neighborhood groups of older neighbors that meet regularly with support from our trained facilitators to improve health, make new friends and find a renewed purpose. In addition to our Connect for Life Program, Wider Circle offers a Home Visit Program, a support service to welcome new members and assist them in using medicare resources.
