Are you a passionate and dedicated Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) looking to make a positive impact in the lives of children? Join our supportive and welcoming team at Whole Child Therapy! We have a full-time opportunity to provide services at a nearby non-public school for assessments, IEP meetings, and consultations. Interest in conducting Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) and AT (Assistive Technology) assessments is also a plus. We also have full-time opportunities at our outpatient clinic in Claremont, CA. If you would like a mixture of both settings, that is possible too!

Role and Responsibilities:


As a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) at our clinic, you will play a crucial role in helping children reach their full potential through therapeutic interventions and activities. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:


  • Conduct thorough assessments to evaluate students' speech, language, and communication abilities.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment results and in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Provide supervision and guidance to Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) in their delivery of therapy services.
  • Develop and oversee treatment plans for SLPAs, ensuring they align with student goals and objectives.
  • Monitor and evaluate the progress of students receiving therapy services from SLPAs, providing feedback and guidance as needed.
  • Participate in individualized education program (IEP) meetings and contribute to the development and implementation of IEP goals.
  • Provide direct and consultative therapy services to students with a variety of speech and language disorders.
  • Regularly communicate with parents and caregivers, providing updates on therapy progress and strategies for home reinforcement.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of therapy sessions, progress reports, and other relevant documentation.
  • Utilize evidence-based techniques and interventions to improve students' speech, language, and social communication skills.
  • Collaborate with teachers, occupational therapists, physical therapists, paraprofessionals, and other professionals to support students' overall development.



Salary:


SLP

Salary Range: $47.00 to $50.00 /hour, depending on experience

Paid at same rate for cancellations/no-shows

1 hour paid plan time daily

About Us


Whole Child Therapy, Inc. is a pediatric therapy clinic owned and operated by a husband and wife occupational therapist couple, Dennis and Ina Necesito. After 20 years of experience as occupational therapists, Dennis and Ina decided to open their own practice so they could provide high quality therapy services using a whole child approach and innovative techniques. We opened our clinic doors in May 2018 with Dennis starting out as the sole employee. Today, Whole Child Therapy, Inc. is now serving over 1,000 clients a month with our amazing staff of over 60 members, including full-time and part-time therapists, therapy assistants, and office staff.


Our core services include pediatric occupational therapy and speech therapy. Our specialty programs include feeding therapy, assistive technology and Augmentative Alternative Communication (AAC) services, and social skills programs. We serve children and their families at our clinic in Claremont, CA and in their homes in the surrounding areas in Southern California. We also serve students in several public school districts, charter schools, and non-public schools.

Requirements:

Qualifications:


  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Current California license or eligibility for licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
  • Experience working with children with significant needs or in special education settings.
  • Knowledge of a wide range of speech and language disorders and their impact on educational performance.
  • Strong assessment and diagnostic skills to develop effective treatment plans.
  • Ability to collaborate and work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Empathy, patience, and a passion for working with children with communication challenges.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of students in a nonpublic school setting.
