Religious, social justice institution seeks Lobbyist to lead appropriations and policy work pertinent to organization’s stated agenda. Primary responsibilities include analyzing legislation and issues to determine positions, arguments, and talking points. Candidate will develop legislative strategy to create an effective intervention to pass or block federal legislation, conduct background research and direct staff supporting research projects. Additional duties include establishing and cultivating relationships with the Administration, Hill leadership and key caucuses. 7-10 years of progressive professional experience, including five or more in federal government relations or issue advocacy required. Strong candidates will have advanced lobbying, strategy, advocacy, and communication skills. Fluency in Spanish and/or database software packages a plus.
