Whitman, Requardt & Associates, LLP (WRA) is seeking qualified resident construction inspectors for water-sewer infrastructure, water- wastewater treatment plants and pumping station facility assignments. Immediate openings available.
Qualifications:
Years of Experience :
Resident Project Representatives (RPRs) - Minimum of ten (10) years of experience, in the specified categories listed below.
Construction Inspectors - Minimum of five (5) years of experience, in the specified categories listed below.
Educational requirements:
Resident Project Representatives (RPRs) - AA or BS in Construction Management and/or CCM certification preferred.
Construction Inspectors - High School Diploma or State Equivalency Certificate, required.
Inspection skills- Applicants must have demonstrated resident inspection experience in one or more of the following categories- 1) Water- Sewer Linear Infrastructure including rehabilitation, relining/CIPP, relocations and new construction, 2) Water or Wastewater Pumping Stations including new construction and rehabilitation; 3) Water & Wastewater Treatment Plants including upgrades or rehabilitation and new construction for facility expansions. All projects require monitoring the contractor’s work for conformance to the design contract plans, specifications and general permit requirements, tracking daily quantities, completing daily electronic inspection reports, reviewing payment requisitions, maintaining field construction documentation and as-built drawings. Specific experience with regional Public Works and Utility agencies preferred, including but not limited to WSSC, DC Water, Baltimore City DPW, Howard County DPW, Carroll County DPW, Anne Arundel County DPW and Baltimore County DPW.
Additional Training or Certifications- Sediment & erosion control certifications (e.g. MDE Green/Yellow Card) are required. NICET, WACEL or NASSCO certifications desirable including NASSCO- PACP/MACP/LACP for sanitary sewer pipeline and manhole repairs/rehabilitation. Certification in Temporary Traffic Control (e.g. Maryland SHA TTCMC) also required for any assigned contracts involving monitoring Contractor MOT or Lane Closures. Confined Space training and current certification required for all manhole/pipeline inspection assignments. Applicant must have a valid driver’s license and personal vehicle for travel to and from assigned construction sites. Other skill-sets required include- good communication skills; the ability to read/interpret plans and specifications; writing and drawing skills necessary to complete inspection reports and sketch books. In addition, basic computer skills are required for completing electronic inspection reports including familiarity with eConstruction software for project document control.
Must be willing to work nights and overtime, when required by the project assignment.
