Job Title: Geodata Analyst with DBA Expertise
Description and required skills:
Experience configuring, maintaining and tuning ArcGIS server and desktop products.
Experience configuring, maintaining and tuning FOSS products including Geoserver.
Experience with Safe Software FME.
Python scripting experience
Familiarity with IT basics
Define or expand upon existing WhiteStar data product schemas
Create or modify translations between data sources and final WhiteStar delivery schemas
Handoff and train other WhiteStar personnel dedicated to gathering and processing data
Troubleshoot, repair and enhance data preparation workflows and processes
Create user accounts for tailored web services and data access
Perform quality assurance and document steps for all work
Investigate new tools, methods, or techniques that enhance and add value to our data in the near- and long-term
Data preparation and loading
Other tasks as they may be assigned from time to time.
Leadership and insight.
Software proficiency including Esri stack, FME, PostgreSQL/PostGIS, Regular Expressions, GeoServer & Open Source GIS, Perl, Linux, command line, WhiteStar Products, MS Office
Database design, tuning, troubleshooting & techniques
Customer Service skills including training and troubleshooting
Teaching and Training skills for technical staff
Performance Standards, and how measured.
Parcel Maintenance: Managing 3000+ counties nationwide, for quarterly updates. Requires conducting QA/QC to ensure proper ownership data on a quarterly basis.
Assist in managing GIS Tech I positions; guiding and monitoring workflow.
Measured by customer satisfaction in terms of data provided
Well Maintenance: Delivery of 4M+ updated records on a quarterly basis; proper QC to ensure accurate data
Customer Satisfaction: measured by repeat business; trust gained through email, phone and LiveChat interactions
Coworker Satisfaction: abiding by the WhiteStar culture to preserve a safe, productive and enjoyable work environment for all employees
Teaching and Training: measured by knowledge, understanding and skills demonstrated by current and new employees
Reports To: GIS Program Manager
Prerequisites: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/GIS/Geography. 5+ years experience. GISP is a plus.
Management expectations, Other:
Exacting precision in data design/creation/maintenance; proper etiquette when communicating with coworkers and customers; ability and willingness to assist coworkers and customers solve any GIS issues they may encounter.
This position requires working at least 50% of the time in our WhiteStar Corporate offices located in Lakewood, Colorado. Only candidates in the Denver metro area will be considered.
