Aviation composite manufacturing company is seeking a full-time engineer for design and analysis for composite parts. This position is a hands-on engineering position. From product conception, design analysis, tooling, testing to production and post-manufacturing

The ideal candidate must have the following experience to be considered:

1. Strong Finite Element Analysis (FEA and FeMap Software) experience in linear, static, and dynamic modal analysis. Familiarity with Campbell diagram.

2. Solidworks software for 3D Modeling

3. Strong technical writing skills

4. Understanding of operating Data Acquisition (DAQ) system and data reduction

5. A plus will include hands-on shop experience and familiarity with basic hand tools.

Must be a self-starter well organized problem solver, accurate project finisher.

Job description:

Design and Analysis of aircraft, wind tunnel, and UAV composite propellers from initial conception to the completed product. Tasks will include Finite Element Analysis (FEA) using FeMap software and solid Modeling in Solidworks. In addition to propeller design, other tasks will include tooling design and technical writing to document analysis reports and manufacturing processes. Ability to instrument and perform strain gauge testing on composite propeller blades to validate FEA models, write structural findings reports, product manuals.

We are looking for a structural engineer to become part of our team for advanced composite structure design. Daily tasks will include the creation and revision of 3D solid models using Solidworks for new and existing designs. Test concepts and fine-tune designs until they are ready to be put into production. Skills for tasks such as the design of new parts in 3D Solidworks design software, and FEA analysis for new and existing composite parts using FeMap. The ideal candidate will be able to efficiently problem solve technical challenges as well as self-manage to complete engineering projects.


  • Engineering and Design of Composite Structures
  • Use SolidWorks software to create various project designs
  • Use Finite Element Analysis FeMap software to analyze engineering designs
  • Conduct data acquisition tests and write test reports
  • Documentation of engineering designs and analysis,
  • Create written product user manuals
  • In-depth knowledge of product line and applications

The Structural Engineer will work directly with the head of Engineering on new and existing composite propeller designs, create 3D models using SolidWorks, perform testing procedures and draft specifications for manufacturing, as well as, create prototypes and fine-tune designs until they are ready for production.

Education & Experience: Experience is preferred over education. However, most likely we may require at least Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, and possibly a Masters or Doctorate. Preference will be on the applicant's abilities and work ethic over education.

Computer Skills: Knowledge and fluency with Solidworks 3D modeling software, and Finite Element Analysis software (FEMAP). Knowledge of, CNC software is a plus.


  • Previous experience in structural engineering or other related fields a plus, or education in engineering

  • Creates designs using SolidWorks design software and fabricates models that can be tested.
  • Designs new product tools and fixtures and modifies existing tools and fixtures used in Production.
  • Creates sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
  • Experiments with and analyzes different materials, manufacturing processes, design tolerances, and other factors in the developmental process.
  • Ensures detailed documentation is submitted with designs.
  • Refines and reviews initial designs.
  • Delivers specifications and procedures to Manufacturing department in order to begin production
  • Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of the company's product line and applications
