The DevOps team is a group of experienced & accomplished DevOps Engineers using cutting edge technologies to maintain production servers, establish best practices, and build & deploy new services to make our teams' life easier. They are small, close-knit, and effective with a keen eye on infrastructure, ease of maintenance, and scalability. This team is critical to keeping the lights on and they always keep our customers at the forefront when making decisions.

What You'll Do

As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will be working with the development team to automate our processes, guide teams to build secure solutions and monitor performance & uptime. You'll be responsible for administering Kubernetes clusters and Linux servers in a 24/7 Cloud environment. Working with product engineering teams, you will automate and support continuous delivery of highly scalable services to Kubernetes and AWS. You will follow best practices to define key monitoring points and performance metrics, manage alerts, and respond to escalated issues. In this role you will:

  • Build on your experience in automated CI/CD using solutions like Gitlab.
  • Implement solutions for improving our infrastructure and software through automation, monitoring, performance tuning, health monitoring and tool creation.
  • Deliver infrastructure as code.
  • Implement highly available, secure, scalable, self-healing CI/CD and production systems.
  • Document standard processes for system deployment, maintenance and alert management.
  • Guide the team to build out secure software that scales and is available at all times.
  • Support test automation frameworks in collaboration with other team members.
  • Understand and use best practices for deployment processes and support continuous integrations and deployments.
  • Contribute directly to the planning and execution of the next iteration of core, customer-facing services.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation.
  • Mentor teammates joining the team on DevOps practices.
  • Share best practices with the Engineering organization via lunch and learn and other methods.
Who You Are

You get a kick out of problem solving, scaling architecture and infrastructure. You solve these hard problems with automation and open source solutions and enjoy working in a fast paced environment. You have a desire to learn & grow and are excited to join a dynamic & passionate team with an established DevOps practice in place, where you will deploy multiple times a day with an infrastructure that automatically scales on demand.

Experience and Skills Needed
  • 5+ years of experience as a Linux system administrator or DBA in an AWS, GCP, Azure, or large scale private cloud environment
  • Experience as a software developer.
  • 2+ years of experience in DevOps/SRE roles
  • 2+ years of Kubernetes experience required
  • General cloud computing best practices, including networking and security
  • Strong communication skills to work with cross-functional teams of peers and departments within the company
  • Grasp of automation tools and experience working in a DevOps culture; sharing responsibilities with developers
  • Comfortable driving infrastructure as code with a focus on maintainability
  • Experience implementing managed cloud services in new and existing stacks
  • Experience running mission-critical Linux servers in virtualized environments
  • Experience orchestrating and supporting containerized deployments (Docker preferred)
  • Experience with scripting (bash, python) and exposure to PHP and Go
  • Ability to build, monitor, and tune production servers and services
  • Experience with designing and building CI/CD ecosystems, Gitlab preferred
  • Broad familiarity with AWS managed services, or expertise in a similar enterprise cloud provider
  • Experience with relational and document - noSQL databases.
