Manager, Global Building Openings - Security

WeWork is seeking a Manager, Global Building Openings - Security, who has a strong project management background in Security System installation in new build outs, is proficient and highly experienced in the elements of security system design,logistics, sourcing and vendor management. This position requires experience in project management and process flow from pre-lease through close out, and provides guidance and quality control in maintaining operational standards. Our ideal candidate is a detail-oriented self starter who is motivated by a fast-paced environment, has the ability to manage multiple projects at once, and is deadline driven. A process oriented mindset and can-do attitude is a must.

As Manager, Global Building Openings - Security, you will be involved in multiple projects from start to finish, working with a variety of internal departments as well as external stakeholders (e.g.: Regional Operations, Construction and Development, Technology, Landlords, System Integrators, Risk, and Building Operations) to ensure that all security and safety requirements associated with new development projects are delivered on time and within budget.  In addition, you will assist in ensuring that all systems, processes, equipment and signage relating to Security and Safety are in place at the time of commissioning and turnover to operations.  

The Manager, Global Building Openings - Security is an integral member of the WeWork Global Security Team (GST). This position supports the rapid innovation and provisioning of holistic security and risk management services at multiple WeWork locations throughout the globe. This individual will assist in enabling the GST to carry out its core mission, which is to secure and safeguard the WeWork member community's passion to succeed while doing what they love.

WeWork locations and members are our core clients, and one of the largest priorities for this role is enabling new buildings across Global regions to open on time with a state of the art security system, as designed and functioning properly. The Security Senior Manager/Manager will maintain a regular travel schedule to help weave regional  security management into a process flow that will enable the We Company to maintain standards and policies across regions.  

The Manager, Global Building Openings - Security  reports to the Senior Director of Global Building Openings.    



  • Become familiar with and immerse in the We Company's internal systems to track and plan building openings across multiple regions.

  • Assist in managing a team of in-direct reports

  • Develop and maintain close relationships with internal teams responsible for design, development and construction

  • Provide advice and alternatives for matters such as camera locations, access control hardware and system integration concerns in collaboration with the Security Design Manager or others as appropriate

  • Assist in establishing and maintaining vendor relationships and ensure that vendors are meeting or exceeding contractual requirements through the use of KPI's. 

  • Assist in ensuring that all equipment is purchased in accordance with internal policy and in a cost effective manner

    • Review current sourcing strategies with appropriate individuals and make recommendations for improvements and cost savings

    • Be familiar with new products related to Security and Safety processes or hardware to improve efficiency or reduce costs

  • Assist in establishing sound logistical processes for the ordering, purchase, delivery, storage and deployment of security and safety hardware and materials

  • When requested, identify risks associated with locations and make recommendations for remediation

  • Be familiar (on a global scale) with Security and Safety related requirements such as Fire Life Safety, Health and Safety (e.g., OSHA) as they pertain to Security systems and signage

  • Implement training programs to improve regional operational team performance as it pertains to Building Openings in collaboration with the Security Systems Team or others as appropriate.

  • When requested or required provide input and recommendation on design standards and alternatives in collaboration with the Security Design Manager or others as appropriate

  • Utilize project and construction management programs in support of your responsibilities

  • Be responsible for maintaining a communication strategy that supports the Global Building Opening initiatives. 

  • Identify and resolve issues or roadblocks that could impact building openings

  • Travel in support of these responsibilities will be required

  • 5+ years of experience managing security operations in a corporate environment

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience. A major in Construction/ Project Management is a plus.

  • Solid understanding of  low voltage technology (IP video, CCTV, alarms, access control).

  • Experience designing security for new buildings or facilities, to include access control systems, IP video and conducting risk assessments.

  • Understanding of basic networking concepts (IP addresses, MAC addresses).

  • Strong time management skills and experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Ability to multi-task across multiple platforms, departments, time zones, and cultures when necessary (work hours may be adjusted to support global time zones)

  • Ability and experience to develop and implement training material.

  • Experience managing large scale projects with multiple deadlines and stakeholders.

  • Experience operating in matrixed environments with global reach

  • CPP/PSP/PMP preferred

  • Ability to maintain order and efficiency in a stressful environment

  • Energetic, wellspoken, impeccable communication skills

  • Demonstrate a high-level of attention to detail
