We are currently looking for a motivated underwriting associate that will assist the underwriters with various underwriting duties. Experience in the insurance industry is preferred but not required. The ideal candidate would be willing to learn, someone who takes pride and ownership in their work, and someone who can work well independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

Review all incoming applications and refer to the appropriate person
Order and review loss control inspections. Follow up when needed
Process policy quotes as directed by Underwriters
Review and approve policy endorsement requests within guidelines
Review and approve cancellation requests
Handle special assignments as needed
Maintain a solid understanding of systems, workflows, guidelines for assigned product lines and other materials in order to fulfill work assignments
Process loss run requests

Requirements

· 2 years of insurance industry experience preferred but not required

· Must have strong written and verbal communication skills

· Must have excellent problem-solving, organizational, and interpersonal skills

· Ability to use sound judgment and make decisions within underwriting guidelines

· Must be willing to work within a team environment and independently when needed

· Ability to manage multiple tasks

· Proficient computer skills including Outlook, Word and Excel.

· High Attention to detail.
