IT Support Tech Tier 1

Westfall Technik is currently seeking qualified candidates for an IT Support Technician. This position will provide first-level technical support across the organization. Chosen candidate will be responsible for basic troubleshooting Windows desktop, laptops, and printers, as well as troubleshoot network issues that may arise. Reporting to IT Infrastructure Manager, the right person for this opportunity requires a can-do attitude. The Tier One resource typically supports a local site, travel to other Westfall facilities may be required as needs arise.

Essential Functions and Responsibility
  • Configure IT devices for secure operation, including installation of security software, software updates, and other configurations as required
  • Working knowledge of TCP/IP, DHCP, and DNS protocols a plus
  • Basic support and troubleshooting LAN/WAN a plus
  • Administer user access in Office 365 and Active Directory services
  • Assist staff with the installation, configuration, and ongoing usability of desktop/laptop computers
  • Assist with VPN Access including multi-factor authentication
  • Serve as last escalation point to internal IT team and resolve technical issues
  • Create and delete accounts as part of on-boarding/off-boarding process
  • Communicate to IT Management ideas and recommendations on upgrades and new concepts using technology to improve business productivity

  • Ability to provide direction to staff to resolve technical issues
  • Knowledge of PC and networks including installation requirements
  • Demonstrate use of effective verbal and written communication to successfully achieve end user support
  • Ability to determine computer problems
  • Proven analytical, logical thinking, and problem-solving skills to resolve reported issues
  • 2 years help desk/desktop support experience a plus but not required

  • Professional training/certifications related to areas of responsibilities
  • Bachelor’s Degree a plus

Certification(s) – one or more of the following industry certifications is highly desired
  • CompTIA A+
  • CompTIA Network+
  • CompTIA Security++
  • MCSE: Desktop Infrastructure
  • MCDST: Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician
  • Help Desk Institute (HDI)
  • ITIL Foundation
