Job Description
Overview

The Renewable Energy Project Manager position leads teams supporting one or multiple clients nationwide. He or she works to explain the principles and advantages of renewable energy exploration and development to individual landowners, consortium groups, and/or at public meetings. This position serves as primary contact point with clients on project updates and issues.

Responsibilities

  • Reports to the Director of the Renewables Division
  • Must work effectively in remote settings
  • Makes independent decisions within established parameters on how best to approach land owners and proceed with contract negotiation
  • Responsible for proposal design including project strategy and budget estimates
  • Provides direction and guidance to staff on decisions related to the performance and execution of project objectives
  • Meets with client representatives to provide project updates, discuss project timetables and work parameters
  • Assists Land Agents as needed in meetings with landowners to conduct contract negotiations
  • Represents Western or the client at landowner meetings, government agency reviews and public hearings
  • Provides reports to senior management and client representatives on the status of negotiations and executed contract agreements
  • Distributes work assignments to project team members
  • Makes employment related decisions including hiring, termination, performance evaluations and recommendations concerning compensation
  • Engages current and prospective clients to further develop relationships in the pursuit of future work

  • Other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in the renewable sector
  • Previous experience in Project Management
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Familiarity with basic Microsoft Office software including Outlook, Word and Excel.  Ability to create and maintain information database, spreadsheets, and text documents.
  • Working knowledge of Google Earth
  • Demonstrated success in leading teams and coordinating work assignments in accordance with project timelines
  • Ability to prioritize and organization work in order to meet project deadlines
  • Ability to gain the trust of clients and landowners to facilitate the negotiation process
  • High level of professionalism and ethical standards
  • Some travel and work outside normal work hours may be required
