Job Description

Western Electrical Contractors Association, Inc., a statewide electrical trade association which provides educational solutions to the industry. We are seeking a Membership Manager based out of our San Diego Training Facility.

This position will organize and develop all membership activities and relations for a membership-oriented association. Manage membership databases, oversee the customer service processes to ensure members are satisfied, and update information for current members as well as prospective members. Designated as the membership liaison for sales, retention goals and objectives. To learn and collaboratively develop and execute current and specific sales strategies, member benefits and processes, and goals and objectives that meet and exceed revenue and expense expectations.

Responsible for constantly improving customer service and creating positive customer relationships that support retention strategies; Develop, establish, and track member profile and statistical data required to stay abreast of customers’ needs and objections; understand WECA’s training programs and requirements to explain to all members and potential members. Minimal office administrative support as needed working closely with Operations and Instructional Staff.

Knowledge, Skill and Experience:

1. At least three years knowledge and experience in sales, marketing, management, administration, planning, budgeting, research and       member relationship skills and techniques preferably with a membership organization in the electrical and/or construction industry.

2. Excellent outgoing interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style.

3. Ability to positively challenge and debate issues of importance to the organization.

4. Ability to look at situations from several points of view.

5. Persuasive with details and facts to overcome objections.

6. High comfort level working in a diverse environment.

7. Budget development and oversight experience.

8. Strong written and oral communications skills.

9. IT literate: Familiar with using word processing, databases, spreadsheets, Adobe PDF, and Adobe

    Form creation, project management software and web applications.

10. Able to work flexible hours.

11. Able to travel frequently and overnight stay as needed to meet with potential and existing

     existing contractor and supplier members.

12. Ability to interact effectively as a member of a team and work collaboratively

      with other departments, customers, and suppliers.

13. Ability to listen to customers and to understand and respond positively to their requests.

14. Ability to adapt to changing assignments and multiple priorities.

15. Ability to manage multiple tasks and successfully meet deadlines.

16. Able to conduct complex analyses and develop recommendations.

17. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.

18. Bachelor’s degree in Business or Marketing a plus.
