The IT Tech position provides support and maintenance of all technologies within the education system at the school. It helps provide educators & staff with the necessary support it needs for everyday classroom needs along with maintaining a safe and secure network environment for students. In the expanding technology world, this position helps to continue to provide technology needs for the generations to come.
General technical support for faculty, teachers and students. This includes Chromebooks, Windows systems & Apple iOS & OS devices. It also includes other classroom devices such as presentation equipment & miscellaneous technology needs.
Oversight & maintenance of the school network environment. This includes maintaining network and internet connectivity throughout the school. It also includes maintaining and troubleshooting the firewall for internet security along with the web filtering system for everyone within the network.
Equipment maintenance & repairs. This includes making sure that every device in the school is in good working order, updating software and operating systems, installing & reinstalling operating systems, physical repairs to computers & other technology and other media & presentation needs.
Oversight of Google Education Suite & School Accounts. This includes maintaining the school’s Google Education Suite, creating new email accounts for both students & faculty, maintenance of all Chromebook licenses along with apps & extensions and other functions within Google Education. It also includes maintaining all faculty accounts within the Windows workgroup for computer logins.
Administration of School Information System. This includes maintaining & technical support of the overall school information system, migrating data from school year to school year, oversight of Teacher Gradebooks, management of PlusPortals for parents, teachers & students, text & email support for AP Notify and various other needs within SIS.
Door Control System Management. This includes maintaining the door control system and it’s users along with programming door cards, time zones and schedules.
Media content & creation. This includes building presentations for all chapel services with ProPresenter 7, transferring & converting outside PowerPoint files into Pro7, creating video or graphic content and connectivity to all media sources (tv’s, projectors, etc.). It also includes video recording & editing for various meetings or events throughout the school and uploading them to an online platform such as YouTube or Google Drive.
Sound & Media setup. This includes setting up and running sound for all events along with other meetings or events throughout the school such as spelling bees, teacher meetings, etc. Also making sure that any presentation equipment is connected and set up according to the need.
