Warehouse Forklift Operator

Position Overview:

Position reports to the Facility Manager, Manager of Operations, or Supervisor of Operations. Operate MHE in consistent, safe, and reliable manner. Prompt work attendance with minimal unplanned absences.

Responsibilities:

• Operate equipment safely and behave in compliance with company policy and site management expectations
• Complete daily safety and MHE inspections
• Satisfy employee productivity and inventory accuracy goals with respect to unloading and loading shipments, put-away of inbound material, picking of outbound orders, and overall handling on customer material
• Count, weigh, and otherwise determine the actual quantity of inventory being handled

• Provide timely and accurate communication to site management
• Provide timely and accurate communication to site customer service personnel
• Perform daily housekeeping tasks to standard
• Open and close facility in special cases authorized by site management

Required skills:

Education

• High school degree required or equivalent work experience

Experience

• One to two years of relevant experience

Knowledge and Skills

• Prior use of MHE and/or prior MHE certification
• Effective communication and listening skills
• Bi-lingual communication skills preferred
• Must demonstrate responsible work habits and satisfy pre-employment requirements, including background check and drug screen.

Environment and physical requirements

· Communication with people

· Must be able to sit a minimum of eight (8) hours per day and must be able to stand/climb stairs as required

· Must be able to twist, stoop, squat, crouch, and reach above shoulder level on regular basis

· Must be able to lift 35 pounds on regular basis

· Position may be exposed to heavy duty tractors and trailers, gas and diesel engines, maintenance areas, shipping and receiving docks, material handling equipment, warehouse personnel, and OTR drivers

· Minimal travel time
