Instructor or Assistant Professor of Biology-Zoo Ornithology/Aviculture

The Department of Organismal Biology, Ecology, and Zoo Science at West Liberty University, College of Sciences, invites applications for a 9-month, non-tenure track faculty position to teach undergraduate and graduate Zoo Ornithology, as well as other organismal biology courses to future zoo and conservation professionals. In addition to teaching, the successful
applicant will have access to the University's animal collection, as well as Oglebay Good Zoo's collection, which encompasses over 800 individual animals, and more than 60 species. Student based research will be encouraged as well as graduate student mentorship.
Qualifications, Education & Experience:
The successful candidate will be appointed as an Instructor or Assistant Professor, depending upon their level of education and experience. The minimum education required for this position is an earned M.S. in Biology or a Master's in a related field. Preference will be given to candidates with an earned doctorate or candidates with M.S. degrees with 5 or more years of husbandry or leadership experience in AZA facilities. Candidates will be expected to develop courses for remote learning and to teach additional courses in their specific areas of expertise as needed.
