The Wencor Group Job DescriptionJob Title: Director of Military Accounts - Wencor DefenseDepartment: SalesReports to: President of DefenseDirect reports: 3 Indirect reports: 0FLSA Status: Exempt Grade: A27Overview of the Position:Leads the development of customer sales strategy for business expansion in the Military Defense- Aerospace Segment. Monitors performance of customer accounts in line with strategy and business financial objectives.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Strategizes, develops, implements, and monitors business goals, operating plans and budgets for long term growth. Monitors sales levels for assigned region and targets areas for improvement.Implements processes and procedures which facilitate organizational growth and profit objectivesEngages with internal stakeholders across Engineering, Sales and Supplier Marketing teams.Provides coaching to team members to aid development of value added solutions; optimizing customer relationships.Maintains and drives trending knowledge of products, competitors, technology and customers in the assigned supplier product market.Working knowledge and experience with engineering support acquisition organization at the US Military Repair & Overhaul Depots primarily located at Redstone, WR-ALC, Tinker, and Ogden Utah.
Experience developing account plans and capture plans for new business opportunities for engineered product solutions.Provides leadership and direction through managers and senior managers. Accountable for the performance and results of a major function that has cross-organizational impact and is comprised of multiple departments and/or teams.Establishes policies appropriate for the function. Interprets and recommends modifications to enterprise-wide policies and practices.
Adapts and executes functional business plans and contributes to the development of functional strategies. Responsible for efficient utilization of significant resources within the function.Objectives are defined in collaboration with senior management and results assessed with a long-term perspective. Decisions are guided by functional strategy and priorities.Collaborates with senior management and others concerning matters of significance to the company.
Routinely conducts briefings for senior management and/or key external contacts. Influences senior management or customers/clients.Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Team oriented with the ability to work independently with minimal supervisionWorking knowledge of US Government budgeting and DoD acquisition processesExperience with industry-specific research toolsAdvanced skills with the Microsoft Office Suite, to include PowerPoint and Excel functionsEducation / Experience Requirements:Bachelor's degree or higher in an Engineering, Finance, or Business field of studyTypically 10+ years including direct Depot sales developmentOther Qualifications:The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
