Location: Women’s Academy at Atlanta Public Schools Adult Education Center 1757 Mary Dell
Drive, Atlanta, GA 30316; other metro Atlanta Wellspring Living locations as needed
Position Summary: The Assistant Director supports the leadership, oversight, and supervision of
the staff, volunteers, participants, and facilities for the Women’s Academy. This position is
responsible for assisting with the development and implementation of plans and goals for the
department, working closely with the Program Director to supervise and coordinate daily staff and
participant operations, and ensuring compliance with policies, plans and regulations.
Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
● Actively support the development of a healthy, trusting, cohesive team that works together
well to accomplish the mission of the program
● Support interviewing, hiring and onboarding for the program
● Support the development and implementation of plans and goals for the program ●
Supervise daily operations of staff members and progress of participants ● Monitor
and track attainment of program objectives and goals
● Evaluate direct reports bi-annually and provide training, growth opportunities and
consistent feedback; regularly check in with direct reports
● Create an admissions strategy /process that ensures census targets are reached; Coordinate
with program administrative leadership team to conduct regularly outreach opportunities ●
Create status reports and updates related to compliance, programming, effectiveness and other
indicators of progress to share with Program Director
● Regularly interact with program participants, providing strength-based role modeling,
direction, and decision-making
● Communicate effectively and professionally with all stakeholders- internal and external ●
Work with Program Director to maintain program budget compliance and oversee program
calendar
● Ensure that all policies and procedures are routinely followed, including but not limited to
recordkeeping, intake procedures, health and safety, clinical services, educational plans and
progress, and emergency preparedness
● Represent Wellspring Living in a positive and engaging way, including tours, development
and fundraising activities, speaking opportunities, events, and Institute trainings ● Utilize the
strength-based approach in providing structure for the program
● Provide culturally competent care to referred individuals and program participants without
regard to race, gender, ethnicity, sexuality, religious or spiritual beliefs

Professional Qualifications:
● Administrative, organizational, and computer skills including use of email and Microsoft
Office suite of products
● Documentation of references (at least two professional and one personal) that attest to the
person’s capability of performing the duties of the position and to the person’s suitability of
working with or around vulnerable populations
● Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in a relatedfield; Master’s Degree preferred
● Minimum five years of experience in the field of education, social or human services, including with
adult victims of complex trauma; management experience preferred ● Knowledge of adult
education, career coaching, and job placement programs preferred
Position Requirements:
● Moderate local travel required related to program and training needs, as well as occasional
travel beyond the metro Atlanta area
● Ability to lift objects up to 25 pounds and work for long periods at a computer
● Satisfactory criminal history background check
● Clean Motor Vehicle Record
