This is a fast-paced role at a growing company with advancement opportunities. If you are not energized and hungry to be in this type of environment, this role is not a fit for you.
About Wellspring Care
Our mission is to redefine care for the most vulnerable children with special needs and disabilities. The healthcare system is failing the underserved. It's a struggle to find care, to afford care, and to receive quality care.
We are led by a founder who grew up on Medicaid (public insurance) and personally knows the desperation of not being able to afford medically-necessary care.
Here, we believe that anything can be achieved through pure will, determination, and grit. We value operators with a similar mindset.
The Role
We're looking for passionate and empathetic hustlers to join us. This is not your typical community manager position. Instead, you'll be working with real families with real human problems. Your role is to empower these underserved families to partake in a community built with and for them. Navigating the healthcare maze can be one lonely journey, and you will make sure every family feels accompanied and supported, every step of the way.
In this role, you will:

Your role is to empower these underserved families to partake in a community built with and for them. Navigating the healthcare maze can be one lonely journey, and you will make sure every family feels accompanied and supported, every step of the way.
In this role, you will:
- Own and drive a thriving community. You'll be in charge of managing our virtual and in-person communities by building out our virtual platform, organizing digital events, hosting in-person meet-ups, community events, and by mobilizing our families. Moreso, you will introduce families to each other, and set the ground for conversations that empower families to rely on one another to get through the sometimes bumpy roads.
- Create and lead our community strategy. You'll brainstorm, design and implement social media and communication content plans, campaigns and strategies, coordinating with the marketing, PR and communications teams to organize and manage events to boost internal brand and community awareness. You'll also build relationships with customers, partners, industry professionals, among others to promote our community both internally and externally.
- Content creation and engagement. You'll create engaging content for all platforms, including our blogs, internal resources pages, online community, social media platforms, newsletters, videos, testimonials, among others.
- Uplift our families. You'll play an integral role guiding families through the healthcare and training mazes. You are their biggest cheerleader during the highest highs and lowest lows and will find a way of building community at every step of their journey.
- Partner with technology, clinical, and product teams across Wellspring . You'll be a critical voice for collaboration among initiatives to further our mission by relaying community feedback to relevant internal stakeholders.
- Highly-competitive compensation with sign-on bonus, company equity, and benefits. Everyone on the Wellspring team receives company equity and salaries above industry standards. Our builders are a critical part of our team, and we strive to reflect this through ownership and pay.
- Environment for growth and learning. You will have the opportunity to drive great impact and gain exposure to all functions of the company. At Wellspring, you can flex multiple realms of your interpersonal skillset and creativity.
- Propel innovation in healthcare . We are leading the change against traditional providers with outdated systems. You'll be able to operate in a fast-paced environment to deliver care and iterate.
- An energizing, compassionate team. Our team cares deeply about each other. We strive to elevate and uplift each other in our day-to-day work to do the best for our families. We don't believe in bureaucratic nonsense.
- Supporting your wellbeing. We provide benefits to allow you to do your best work:
- Competitive medical, vision, dental, 401K, and life insurance.
- Remote and in-person hybrid work options. You pick what suits you.
- Stipend to upgrade your work-from-home setup. Is it time for a new keyboard or desk chair?
- Unlimited paid-time-off (PTO), 10 paid holidays, and parental leave. We want you to rest as hard as you work.
- Paid company off-sites, meetups, and team bonding events. You'll get to see everyone outside of their Zoom box.
We index more on your experience and hustle than a college degree from a shiny institution.
- At least 1-4 years of community building experience in a professional role. This can mean (but is not limited to) you have work experience in any of the following areas:
- Community Manager
- Head of Community
- Social Media Manager
- Event Planner or Coordinator
- Developer Relations Associate/Planner
- Excellent project management and process execution skills. You know how to handle complex and cross-functional initiatives, set goals, and optimize workflows.
- Experience in performance measurement (or willingness to learn). You've used a myriad of tools spanning from spreadsheets to dashboards to measure success and optimize your efforts.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as presentation skills and hands on experience with social media engagement and tracking of KPIs.
- Deep empathy, endless tenacity, charisma, and patience. You are a social butterfly that loves to connect people and build relationships that will last a lifetime.
This role would be a fit for you if you have the following:
- Compassion for underserved families.
- You truly view this as an opportunity to help the most vulnerable. Low-income families are often turned away from care and treated with little respect in healthcare. You're fired up to flip this narrative!
- Execution horsepower.
- Your uncanny advantage is your speed for execution and your organizational skills. For teams you work with, you are known for always exceeding expectations and raising the bar for yourself and for everyone else around you.
- Down-to-earth interpersonal skills.
- You know how to relate and talk to anyone and everyone. People connect with you on a deeper level. You can switch from talking to a high-ranked executive, to a rural farmer, and to an alien from Mars with no hesitation.
- Team-player and beginner's mindset.
- You have a low ego and are willing to learn. You are willing to admit mistakes and have an open mindset to new avenues of problem-solving.
- You are constantly thinking of ways to improve, and are not afraid to pivot when necessary.
- Force of nature.
- You take extreme ownership. There are no tasks or problems that are beneath you - even the most unsexy, complex of problems.
- You are able to drive critical goals under ambiguity and constraints.
- Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
If you're passionate and excited about delivering life-changing care to families in need, working with a tight-knit team of builders, accelerating your career and growth, and making an impact on the next category-defining company, don't hesitate to apply.
