Machine Operator

This position is located in Henderson, NV. This position is eligible for a $1,000 Sign on Bonus. Responsible for operation of high-speed machines used in the production. Acts as a group leader. Makes minor adjustments and verifies quality of own work.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Turn on machines including boxers, coders, conveyors, wrappers, tanks, tracks, check weighers, and metal detectors.
- Verify proper mix in tanks and ensure all correct supplies are present including cases, trays, barrels, and tubs.
- Perform setup, cleanup and operation of machines on designated lines according to the production schedule. Shut down machines. Make sure cardboard, barrels and supplies are hauled out. Place machine covers in the proper places.
- Record all production performance, counts, downtime and other quality or production related information as required. Monitor for process abnormalities, taking quick action to correct.
- Monitor production process including product weight, quality, texture, volume, and taste. Must also complete paperwork such as weight, temperature, code and flavor sheets. Responsible for correct documentation, providing signature to verify compliance with all the required quality specifications and procedure checks for the assigned area.
- Oversee the line and crew, at times training would be necessary.
- Verify machine safety. Ensure all safety devices are fully operational and that safety procedures are being observed.
- Perform minor troubleshooting and maintenance and/or repair work on equipment as needed.
- Assist technical operator on troubleshooting, maintenance, and preventative maintenance.
- Ensure product security through all production, packaging, and final packaging processes to safeguard against tampering, adulteration, or any other security occurrence.
- Must report any unusual activity to management immediately.
Shift/Hours: Shift Schedules vary. At times overtime is mandatory. These positions will generally be scheduled for 8-hour shifts. There may be times when the assigned main line may not be running and will require this position to work another line with a closely similar shift time. All lines require a degree of scheduling flexibility. Current shifts available are on 2nd and 3rd shift.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Knowledge and understanding of the factory’s HACCP program and reporting and production experience preferred.
- Technical/mechanical knowledge and basic math and computer skills.
- Must be able to communicate effectively and follow detailed instructions.
- Must be a team player, capable of working alone.
- Demonstrated leadership skills.
