Job Description

Financial Management

Oversee the review, reconciliation, and processing of lodging sales, credit card transaction vouchers and advance deposits to bank statements
Coordinate recording, submission and payment application of account receivables
Secure and deposit cash and cash equivalents
Draft procedures to monitor, record and audit gift certificate and loyalty award redemption activity
Ensure accurate and timely processing of vendor payments and tax liabilities
Manage payroll and related processing and filings
Assist in the onboarding of regular and seasonal employees' payroll
Complete various period-end closing procedures and reports (e.g., lodging taxes, payroll taxes, in/out accounts)

Reporting & Compliance:

Prepare bank reconciliations and financial statements on a monthly basis
Prepare statistical, financial, accounting, auditing, or payroll reports as requested
Manage the production of the annual budget consistent with the chart of accounts
Conduct analysis of variances from the budget and report significant issues to the Advisory Board
Implement and oversee a system of appropriate controls to manage business risks
Organize and maintain all files and records related to the Finance Function
Coordinate responses to Federal and State agency requests (e.g., unemployment, child support, medical benefits)
Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal government reporting requirements related to the Finance Function
Support outside accountants in the preparation of annual tax filings

Strategic & Development Support:

Assist with the preparation of revenue and expenditure forecasts for all departments
Provide analytical support to identify cost savings and productivity opportunities
Coordinate with consultants/outside professionals on technology implementations
Coordinate the on-boarding of new properties with respect to all aspects of the Finance Function, including all financial services for new managed entities (e.g., banking and accounting)
Assist in the negotiation of construction and permanent loan financing for renovation work at existing properties and acquisition of new properties
In addition to these core responsibilities, the Controller participates as a team player with other senior Company officials in such supporting roles as may be required from time to time at the direction of the Company’s CEO.

Degree in accounting/finance

CPA licensure preferred

Sage 1 year (preferred)
Min 3 to 5 years of experience (Required)

Must be US citizen
