Must analyze and oversee accounting data on a monthly/quarterly basis and make necessary adjustments. Generate monthly/quarterly internal financials. Perform tax planning and coordination at the entity and individual level throughout the year. Ensure financials for the organization are up to date and accurate. Ensure compliance with all Federal and State rules and regulations. Attend training/conferences to improve work performance and knowledge.
Bachelor’s Degree in accounting
Proficiency in all Microsoft applications required.
Willingness, commitment to learn, and understand the health service industry, health centers, and insurance and patient billing.

Highly effective written and verbal communication skills; solid command of grammar, syntax, and vocabulary. Excellence in writing, editing, transcription, and word processing.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND PERFORMANCE STANDARDS
Develop the annual budget. Oversee operating budgets for specific programs/grants and exercises control to ensure expenditures do not exceed budgetary limits.
Supervise the preparation of all regulatory reports (i.e. FSR, UDS, Medicare, Medicaid, IRS Form 990, state tax returns, etc.)
Establish a centralized general ledger, accounts payable and accounts receivable
Ensure proper receiving, depositing, and disbursing of all corporate funds and manage cash flow.
Develops and maintains an effective system of general accounting and cost determination.
Maintains general ledger and all books of original entry using double-entry, accrual, and fund accounting methods. Prepares monthly general and standard journal entries.
Maintains and reviews cost center and appropriation accounts, including trial balances, to verify the accuracy with coding, classifying, and posting.
Manages Accounts Receivable and collections/referrals.
Reconciles all bank accounts monthly and reports findings to Chief Executive Officer or designee.
Maintains internal control system for cash and other company assets.
Audit contracts, orders, and vouchers before processing.
Assists independent and program auditors with interim and year-end audits.
Ensures that all federal, state and other government reports such as annual tax returns and ERISA reports are prepared and mailed in a timely fashion.
Arrange for the annual financial audits, and Federal Medicare and Medicaid cost reports.
Ensures that all files of documents including contracts, lease insurance policies, grant notices, bonds, and related documents are maintained.
Develops various financial management reports as needed.
Develop computer protocols to assure appropriate data collection for all grants and contracts.
Develop, implement and work with a billing company to ensure procedures relative to patient accounts and reimbursements by the patient, insurance and other third-party payers are accurate
Work with a billing company to ensure accounting systems capture accounting information required by third-party payers.
Keeps informed of all government regulations and procedures affecting corporate finance and accounting procedures.
Prepare and present performance and fiscal reports for Board and Chief Executive Officer for approval.
Attend the finance committee meeting of the Wellness FQHC center's Board of Directors and present the current fiscal situation.
Ensure that various fiscal deadlines are met and appropriate data are provided.
Participate in the development of departmental objectives.
Serves as a member of the Senior Management Team.
Develop and assist with the Capital Plan, Financial Management Policies and other policies relevant to the Center
Complies with all agency policies and procedures concerning corporate compliance including the privacy of protected health information.
Performs related work as required and other duties as assigned by Chief Executive Officer; acts on behalf of the Chief Executive Officer in his/her absence and upon request.
