Job Description


Our client is a manufacturer of chemicals used by a variety of customers and industries.  We are looking to hire a Sales Professional for our line of synthetic and certified organic, botanically based pesticide products.  The California Sales Representative will manage the implementation of the sales and marketing strategy at the territory level.  The territory to be finalized covers California with a strategic focus on San Diego, Los Angeles, and the San Francisco Bay area. The position requires the skill set to aggressively sell products in the marketplace by working directly with pest management professionals, distributors, and strategic market influencers in the structural pest control market.  

Principal Responsibilities: 

  • Independent implementation of strategies and tactics aimed at growing sales and market share in a defined territory.
  • Utilization of Salesforce to manage and track territory strategy.
  • Weekly goal of 15 planned customer engagements utilizing in person and virtual selling environment
  • Manage the sales process with territory accounts to research, gain access to, and present business proposals to gain agreement on initiatives and increase the use of our products.
  • Primary sales focus:
    • Key Accounts and Tier II
    • Territory and zone development
    • New Accounts 
    • Distribution locations and distributor salespeople
    • Key Market Influencers
  • Attend and participate in regional and national sales meetings.
  • Create internal and external presentations utilizing PowerPoint and other media.
  • Excellent time management and planning skills are required to maximize customer calls and minimize travel time.


  • A college degree is preferred with a minimum of two to five years chemical or related sales experience. 
  • A proven record track record including selling skills combined with an enthusiasm for the selling process.  Has a business mindset.
  • Demonstrated skills at consultive selling, building, and maintaining customer relationships for the long-term.
  • A highly motivated self-starter with excellent communication and presentation skills;  demonstrated planning and time management skills.
  • High proficiency in computer use, specifically Microsoft Office and Outlook.
