Post-Production Systems Engineer
General Job Description:
Weigel Broadcasting is looking for an energetic Post-Production Systems Engineer to join the Systems Group at its Chicago office. The post-production engineer will be responsible for the support and maintenance of Weigel Chicago's Adobe Creative Cloud workstations. In addition, the post-production engineer will work with other members of the Systems Group to create, optimize, and document new and existing workflows used by our editors.
The ideal Post-Production Systems Engineer is an organized self-starter with excellent written and verbal communication skills. They should have a strong understanding of Adobe Creative Cloud, post-production workflows, and popular broadcast codecs.
The Post-Production Systems Engineer position will introduce the selected candidate to the many facets of broadcast engineering at a facility that produces and distributes content for local, national, and OTT distribution.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Administer daily ticketing system and act as support lead to our editors and graphics artists, helping to troubleshoot issues related to editing video, audio, and graphics.
Build, deploy, and maintain our Windows and Mac edit workstations
Manage Software Licenses used for Post Production such as Adobe Creative Suite, Maxon and Video Copilot plug ins.
Create and maintain documentation for new and existing workflows
Work with other members of the Systems Group to develop and maintain media workflows related to studio control room workflows, media content ingest and management, archiving and backup.
Other duties, as assigned.
Requirements:
Where permitted by applicable law, must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine by date of hire to be considered for job, if not currently employed by Weigel Broadcasting Co.
In-depth knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud
Excellent customer service skills
Ability to multi-task, handling multiple tickets simultaneously
Knowledge of basic networking in a post-production environment
Experience with file-based workflows and codecs
Excellent organizational and documentation skills.
