This Global Markets position requires that the Executive Director (ED) establish and manage the vision, strategy, and priorities for the Regional Director team to advance the organization’s brand position among vital internal and external stakeholders. First and foremost, the ED will lead and manage the collaboration among internal and external individuals, groups, and organizations, to ensure the planning and implementation of projects, initiatives, and events to attract continued and new registrations, certifications, and memberships, as well as enhance engagement. The individual must be mission-focused, strategic, collaborative, a strong team player, creative, self-motivated, open to change, and process minded. The position requires that the individual has strong communication skills and can adjust to the different requirements and cultural conditions of the diverse operating environments where WEConnect International supports buyers and sellers. The ED must be a leader who delivers measurable, cost-effective results that help to make the mission a reality.Core Preferred CompetenciesExperience managing dispersed global teams and with extensive knowledge of the specific regional markets, local geopolitical and socio-economic issues, as well as women’s local economic empowerment and entrepreneurship ecosystems.Specific job responsibilities and prioritiesCollaborate with internal and external individuals, groups, and organizations to attract new registrations and certifications for women-owned business, as well as local and global Member Buyers.Oversee and provide inclusive team leadership, mentorship, and structure of a global, strategic, and integrated Regional Director team that inspires creativity, develops value propositions, adopts new technologies, implements best practices, and maximizes marketing and business development opportunities.Work closely with the VP of Member Buyer Relations and the Directors of Marketing, Women-Owned Business (WOB) Engagement, and Training to support registration, certification, and membership growth goals, organizational visibility, credibility, capacity building, and engagement.Manage the Regional Director personnel resources and drive the annual budget process that provides support to all WEConnect International teams, programs, partnerships, and donor funded projects.Offer sound strategic advice and counsel to executive leadership and the marketing team on member development and WOB engagement, with the goal of improving the customer experience, Member Buyer satisfaction, value proposition, efficiency, consistent messaging, and a focus on the right deliverables to support the strategic direction and alignment of business plans with organizational objectives.Enhance the Regional Director and market lead teams’ business development mindset and thought leadership to build long-term, trusted relationships that will lead to increased procurement buyer-seller connections, successes, and wins.Ensure all Regional Director team members understand their connection to business development, lead expansion and generation, and/or funding.Identify and generate leads for engagement with new corporate and local members to increase partnerships, strategic alliances, and grant opportunities for project-related funding. Take the lead in advancing specific sales opportunities to close the deals and produce wins.Oversee and approve regional communications, messaging, and digital and social media content that will help the organization attract new funding opportunities, Member Buyers, and WOBs. Collaborate with Marketing Team to develop an integrated social media strategy and content calendar, as well as speaking opportunities and thought leadership opportunities in the regions for CEO and CSOHGM. Collaborate with WEConnect International’s training resources necessary to influence and put in place both WOB capacity building and business readiness training programs, as well as the products and value-added services required by Member Buyers for increasing the success rate of procurement buyer-seller connections.Build on existing baseline metrics to track progress, ensure stretch goals, standards, and measuring for success to position the Regional Director team for execution of the plan and accelerated capacity and growth.Know, understand, and keep track of WEConnect International’s current and future competitors.Support the travel of the CEO, CSMO, and COO to regional meetings, events and engagements to ensure that trips deliver highest impact and strategic objectives; including developing short briefs on relevant regional stakeholders and working closely with the CEO’s Executive Assistant to plan and support travel.Provide leadership and support for signature regional events, and the annual International Day / WBENC conference and pavilion, including development of agenda, speakers, partnerships, technology event tools, fundraising and attendance of current and potential WOBs and local member buyers.Undertake any other duties which may from time to time be required; this job description is not intended to be either prescriptive or exhaustive but is issued as a general guideline to the main areas of responsibilities.QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Key QualificationsMore than 10 years of working experience with dispersed global teams and extensive knowledge of the specific regional markets, local geopolitical and socio-economic issues.Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with government, corporate, SME, and NGO networks.Awareness of issues affecting women-own businesses in diverse regions, particularly the specific barriers faced by women entrepreneurs, with preferred experience or working knowledge of women-owned businesses in the region.Proven track record in identifying, establishing, and managing strategic partnerships.Must demonstrate proven track record of program management, strategic thinking capabilities, team building, and leadership.Excellent written communication and presentation skills.Comfortable in a fast-paced environment.Empathy with women business owners, preferably with experience starting and growing a business.Ability to work within allotted budgets.Be a skilled networker and partnership player with the ability to influence others.Patience and high communication skills to be able to address concerns and questions of various stakeholders.Experience of relationship management with multinational corporations.Knowledge and experience with relevant supply chain systems and procurement processes nationally and internationally.Ability to develop and update reports and communicate achievements and challenges to key stakeholders.Experience managing and mentoring others, professional development, and building a positive working team environment.Ability to work alone, as a part of a team, and to set and meet targets independently and to manage and deliver projects to timelines.A ‘self-starter’ with excellent motivational skills, enthusiasm, vision and a willingness to think big and encourage the team to develop approaches to overcome challenges.Sound judgment and good political skills and a flexible approach to work.Ability to travel as needed.Education and ExperiencePreference for candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field. Equivalent training and experience will substitute for education. A minimum of ten (10) years of increasingly responsible, directly related marketing, communications and business development experience. Experience using marketing technology tools to conceptualize and implement branding campaigns and standards required. Possess strong understanding of how the marketing and communications functions support business development and is able to prioritize opportunities as a result.
