Growing retail stores looking for part-time assistant store manager, with potential to go full-time. We have two locations, you would be required to work at both. One is in Lauderhill, the other in Oakland Park, so you will need a reliable car.
We are OK with training a very intelligent person into management after starting as a clerk/cashier - emphasis on very intelligent. Must be fluent in all basic computer functions - Excel, Google Docs, Facebook, etc. Experience with eBay/Amazon a plus. If you can't spell or don't know the difference between "your" and "you're," please don't bother applying. You won't work out.
This is a very demanding and serious job in a fun environment. Retail experience is required. Retail management experience is preferred. Print media retail experience preferred (records/CD's/DVD's/books.) Love and knowledge of music helps. Personality tends to help sales!
Specific duties include everything from ringing up customers to evaluating incoming used collections, pricing, processing incoming inventory, handling returns in the stores and across internet platforms, listing things for sale on line, placing orders with distributors, getting change from the bank, restocking supplies such as bags, price gun labels, etc. Typically you are the only employee in the store at any given time except weekends, but you will need to coordinate the other employees at both stores to deliver a consistent customer experience to our diverse clientele. We could work up to adding scheduling and payroll, among other things, to the list.

Attention to detail is huge. Ability to think for yourself and use good judgment are huge. Ability to problem-solve is huge. This is not a simple gig, but it is rewarding. A strong work ethic, responsible nature, and and urgency to complete tasks and help customers are really what we are looking for. (The owner is from NJ, and works at a fast pace - and as you can tell, is fairly blunt!)
Hourly wage is negotiable based on experience, and whether we are training you from clerk or whether you have significant retail management experience and can speak fluently about merchandising, operations, security, shrink, etc. There will be a training wage with opportunities to quickly increase it based on mastering of tasks.
This will be a key position and hours can be increased from part-time to heavy part-time to eventually full-time (if that's what you want.) You will be the right-hand person to the owner. It all depends on how valuable you make yourself to the business by accomplishing tasks accurately and ahead of schedule, which leads to raises/more responsibilities.
