COMMUNITY PROGRAMMING FACILITATOR

Waycross Community Media is looking for a part time Community Programming Facilitator to assist with volunteer recruitment/retention and coverage of government, school, and community events in our four communities. The successful candidate will spend at least two days per week concentrating on volunteer recruitment/community outreach, with the remainder of the time dedicated to community productions (as needed). Applicants must be available to work evenings and weekends.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- COMMUNITY PRODUCTIONS
Set-up/record single camera & multi camera HD remote productions for event coverage
Drive, set up, operate 4 camera HD production truck for remote productions as needed. Monitor and assist volunteer crews at these productions
- COMMUNITY OUTREACH
Develop community relationships & outreach
Volunteer recruitment & retention
- COMMUNITY MEDIA OPERATIONS
Open and secure facilities for access production & training
Reserve and check equipment in and out of facility
Oversee studio production use by public, as needed
- QUALIFICATION REQUIRED
Safe driving and work records
Manual dexterity to manipulate and effectively use equipment
Physical strength to lift and carry production gear (40 lbs.—40 yards)
Organized attention to detail
Ability to maintain effective working relationships with volunteers and others
Good communicator; writes and speaks clearly with appropriate grammar
Good judgment, tact and courtesy
- EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s Degree preferred
Associates degree or prior experience will be considered.
Video production experience and non-linear editing experience a plus
Non-Profit, volunteer coordination experience a plus
Prior experience in community access environment a plus
Job Type: Part-time
Salary: $14.00 to $16.00 /hour
Volunteers and staff produce and cablecast a wide variety of community events - from the monthly Council, Trustee, and school board meetings to community events, high school sports, concerts and more.
Residents can receive video training, then use television production equipment, create, and cablecast a program on the topic of their choice.
