Established in 2017, Waste Solutions of Iowa (WSI) purchased the 37 year old pre-existing company Jim's Johns in March of 2018.  Since that time WSI is quickly becoming the leader in offering high quality service solutions for roll-off dumpsters, grease and interceptor services and all things related to portable restrooms. Our new software systems that include GPS, photographs, route optimization, just to name of few, have quickly earned us brand recognition, and a reputation for being a true service provider. WSI is currently seeking a Roll Of Driver who is ready to join our growing team. This position has the principal responsibility of operating a company truck and driving to various locations in order to do any or all of the following: deliver, remove and haul roll-off containers to/from customer’s sites. This position may require driving in congested and/or confined areas. This position will be required to enter/exit the truck several times per day. Technicians may also be required to climb to hook/unhook containers, move items to smooth the load, and to secure tarps. Roll Off Drivers are exposed to extreme weather conditions and unpleasant odors and sights. The hours and physical demand may vary by task. WSI is a team environment and at any time a Roll Off Driver may be asked to help in a different department with different tasks.


  1. Operates truck in a safe manner in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies. 
  2. Maintains a clean truck inside and out. 
  3. Performs & submits daily pre/post trip on truck.  Major concerns should be brought up to the Operations Manager ASAP.
  4. Must follow all WSI’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and General Standards.
  5. Performs all task assigned by Operations Manager, including but not limited to responding to trouble/emergency calls in a timely manner. 
  6. Immediately reports all unsafe situations or service-related issues to the dispatch office who will determine course of action. 
  7. Drives a roll-off truck along designated commercial and residential routes to mechanically collect construction debris and take it to a disposal site.
  8. Cleans loose trash off of truck and/or ground around truck and container that spills during dumping process to maintain clean customer site and safety along roads and highways.
  9. Cleans waste debris from the truck body on each landfill run. This ensures that equipment operation will continue safely and productively.
  10. Must keep work areas in yard clean and organized and notify Operations Manager if a hazard is recognized.
  11. Responsible for communicating with Operations Manager on items that can hinder a job.
  12. Follows dispatching software follows route, takes photos, calls customers when needed, leaves note on status of stop, asset or any discussion had with customer. 
  13. Professional interaction with WSI employees is expected at all times.
  14. Ensure customers are satisfied with our quality of service and we meet their expectations. All contact is to be document within dispatching system. 
  15. Provide routing feedback to the Operations Manager to be most efficient as well as giving the customer the best service possible.
  16. Performs other duties as assigned. 


  • Ability to read, operate and understand an electronic map/gps/dispatching system utilizing a phone or iPad.
  • Ability to perform physical requirements of the job (prolonged physical exertions, including lifting, pushing, pulling and climbing).
  • General knowledge of mechanics of trucks.
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills to be able to communicate effectively and professionally with WSI staff and customers.
  • Experience: 1-year previous commercial driving experience preferred
  • Possess a valid driver license CDL B 
  • Drug-Free, must pass a drug test if/when requested
