This position is full-time and works approximately 37.5 hours per week.

Essential Functions
The Latin American Studies Program at Washington University in St. Louis is seeking candidates for a Postdoctoral position. The appointment will begin in the fall semester, and the fellow will be required to teach two courses per semester. We seek candidates qualified to teach courses with a focus on Brazilian cultures, or with Brazil playing a significant role, from the perspective of cultural anthropology, cultural studies, and related disciplines. Candidates should be able to teach in the field of popular culture studies, engaging issues of ethnicity, race, nationhood, and/or gender. The position has the possibility of renewal, contingent on satisfactory performance and continued funding.
Required Qualifications
The successful candidate is expected to have the Ph.D. in hand at the time of appointment. (S)he will be expected to participate fully in the intellectual and social life of the School, contribute to our lecture programs and colloquia, and develop and pursue a research agenda with mentoring from the faculty.
Salary Range
Base pay commensurate with experience.
