Job Description
The Maintenance Mechanic will work directly with, and report to, the company's Maintenance Foreman and
Maintenance Manager. The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for monitoring, maintaining, servicing,
repairing, rebuilding and moving industrial machinery in an abrasives manufacturing plant to ensure a safe
and effective production environment. Machines include, but are not limited to, conveyors, bucket elevators,
sifting/grading machines, crushing machines, dust collection systems and industrial magnetic separators.
This position is Monday-Friday 7am-3:30pm and 2-3 Saturdays per month approx. 7am-12pm.
Essential Functions
• Responsible for the overall performance of equipment and vehicles and routine maintenance as
assigned
• Inspect, diagnose and perform necessary repairs of defective or worn components of crushers,
graders, mills, dust collectors, rotary kilns, hoists, cranes, conveyors, baggers and other industrial
machinery
• Preventative maintenance and routine repairs of all buildings and equipment contained within
• Conduct basic plumbing repairs
• Conduct basic carpentry repairs
• Snow Removal
• Other maintenance duties as assigned
Required Skills
• High School Diploma or equivalent – Trade School Preferred
• Operation of various machine tools including and not limited to drills, saws, welders, hand tools,
cutting tools
• Operation of various shop tools including and not limited to pipe cutters, drill press, band saw,
welding, mig, tig and sticks a plus
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs, walk, stand, bend, climb
• Have access to their own basic tool kit, or be able to build one during the first weeks of employment
• Safety shoes are required ($100 annual reimbursement provided)
• Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation
• Licensing in any trade/maintenance area is a plus
• Experience in a production environment is a plus
