Please read the following requirements through their entirety!

Performs a wide range of working level professional law enforcement duties related to operating the Washington County Jail including safety, supervision, booking, release, and inmate programs.

Full Time with Benefits / Lateral Starting Pay $22.40 to $32.00 per hour DOE

Hours: Various/ Shift work to include holidays, nights and weekends.

Minimum Qualifications and Conditions:

1. Graduation from High School or GED.
2. Must be at least 21 years of age.
3. Valid Utah Driver's License
4. Valid Utah BCO certification
5. A candidate must have at least 1 year of previous correctional officer or have been employed in this capacity within 12 months prior to the date of application with the Washington County Sheriff's Office. Out of State POST Corrections certified officers are encouraged to apply but must contact Utah POST to ensure applicant is eligible to challenge the Utah BCO certification process to receive Utah POST BCO certification. Washington County Sheriff's Office will not move forward in the application process until the applicant has obtained the necessary Utah POST BCO Certification.

Candidates must successfully complete all stages of the Washington County Sheriff's Office candidate evaluation process, which include: Physical Agility Test at POST Entrance Standard, Background Investigation, Computer Voice Stress Analysis (CVSA), Interview, and pre-employment drug screening.
