Shipping and Receiving Associate

Position Summary:
Responsible for daily shipping and receiving tasks for all incoming and outgoing product/material including: managing projects by marking material for jobs. In addition: forklift operation, labeling product, change orders, work orders, stock, interoffice transfers, staging shipments, and prepare deliveries via LTL, UPS and other common carriers.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Receive incoming hardware, hollow metal, wood doors, other products and/or materials shipments:
- Label and segregate incoming product/material according to intended use: stock inventory, shop area, other facilities, or for staging:
- Prepare and ship product, materials, and interoffice shipments using the most cost effective method and/or carrier (UPS, LTL, common courier):
- Report and file freight claims for damaged materials
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
- Participate in shipping and receiving meetings
- Assist with Mid-Year and Year End Inventory
- Assisting with local deliveries as needed (Conduct vehicle inspections before departing to deliver materials)
- Operate safety equipment and use safe work habits; required: use of eye/ear protection, masks; compliance with OSHA standards, organization safety standards, and dress code
- Maintaining cleanliness and organization in the warehouse
- Assist in the pre-install department as needed
- Participate in new shipping and receiving process updates and changes
- Customer Service
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent and relatable experience
- Ability to properly use a tape measure and ruler
- Position may require a valid driver’s license, Valid CDL, DOT certificate, and be insurable to drive
- Basic communication and comprehension skills
- Must possess a positive and professional attitude
- Application of basic math
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work independently
- Physical Abilities: Perform repeated physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving the whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials; Arm-Hand Steadiness — The ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm and hand in one position; Near Vision — The ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer); Multi-limb Coordination — The ability to coordinate two or more limbs; Physical Strength - The ability to lift at least 50 pounds unassisted and heavier weights with assistance
