Short-Term or Long Term Resident Assistants.
In keeping with our organization’s goal of improving the lives of our Guests we serve; the Resident Assistant plays a critical role in providing superior customer service.

Ensure that the resident’s room is ready for receiving the resident (i.e. bed made, name tags up, admission kit available, etc.)
Greet all new residents and escort them to their room.
Introduce them to their roommate(s).
Assist residents with packing their personal belongings when they are being transferred or discharged.
Make resident beds.
Pass ice water.
Label resident’s water pitchers and personal items.
Answer call lights promptly.
Assist with passing meal trays in the dining rooms or hallway as assigned.
Assist residents with tray set up for meals.
Pick up meal trays in the dining room and resident rooms when meals are completed.
Transport residents to and from dialysis.
Transport residents to and from activities.
Provide one on one supervision, if directed by the Director of Nursing.
Check resident rooms for food articles and assist residents with organizing and keeping their personal space tidy.
Report any and all incidents to a supervisor (i.e. falls, resident altercations, etc.).
Participating in and receiving the nursing report as instructed.
Follow established policies concerning exposure to blood/body fluids.
Assist with training new staff.
Reports all hazardous conditions, damaged equipment, accidents/incidents and supply issues to the supervisor.
Assure that established infection control and prevention practices and standard precautions are maintained at all times.
Follow established safety precautions when preforming tasks and using equipment and supplies.
Maintains the comfort, privacy and dignity of Guests and interacts with them in a manner that displays warmth, respect and promotes a caring environment.
Communicates and interacts effectively and tactfully with Guests, visitors, families, peers and supervisors.
Ensure each Guest receives person centered care.
Attend and participate in departmental meetings and in-services as directed.
Recognize your role as part of the Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) efforts of your organization.
Attend trainings to build understanding and capacity to undertake QAPI work.
Carry out QAPI roles and responsibilities as assigned.
Follow established policies and procedures in support of QAPI efforts.
Look for and share with leadership ideas for improvement in the organization.
Communicate to leadership upon witnessing a positive outcome of a QAPI project or detecting barriers preventing project success.
Support QAPI efforts both verbally and non-verbally (i.e., via actions and attitude), including adjusting performance and practice in accordance with QAPI initiatives and findings.
Participate in compliance trainings as scheduled and adhere to compliance plan.
This job operates in a health care setting. This role requires regular walking to locations around the facility while pushing wheelchairs and carts. This role may also come into contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and stooping on a regular basis. The employee must frequently lift/move objects weighing at least 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to focus.
Position Type and Hours of Work
This position is part of a health care facility that is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Rotating shifts as well as holiday and work during inclement weather will be required.
Required Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Education and Experience
One year experience in a customer service role.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
Knowledge of Federal, State and Local requirements and regulations.
