MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
a) QC inspect and test electrical control panels systems and sub-assemblies following layout and wiring schematics using visual inspection, electrical testing equipment and instruments.
b) Test wiring circuits and controls to isolate causes of malfunctions, using electrical instruments, such as voltmeter, ammeter, and ohmmeter.
c) Prepare quality documentation, reports, and records, including electronic input.
d) Participate in corrective actions and continuous improvement activities with engineers, managers, field techs, and wiring techs to improve panel quality. (Including documentation).
e) Provide feedback and instruction to wiring technicians and others regarding quality issues
f) May on occasion correct minor defects on panels such as wiring errors.
g) Maintain UL 508A certification, compliance and documentation
h) Perform additional duties as assigned
KEY SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
a) Operative knowledge of UL 508A standards plus the current ability to or future willingness to assume responsibility for UL 508A and 698A administration.
b) Strong ability in reading and understanding complex electrical schematic diagrams
c) Understanding of the application, interaction, and operation of control systems panels
d) Strong organizational skills, communication, attention to detail, and ability schedule and manage QC projects
e) Ability to assume responsibility, interface and communicate effectively with others
f) Preferred – Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and or other recognized quality systems. Additional UL standards proficiency beyond 508A is a plus (such as 698A).
This role does not have any direct reports at this time but would probably need to supervise a small crew in the future as we add QC techs. So a leadership track record would be great.
