The Receptionist, reporting directly to the Human Resource Manager, is responsible for providing excellent customer service to all visitors, team members and clients. The Receptionist is required to have a heavy physical presence at the administrative entrance lobby, handle incoming calls, assist in handling incoming/outgoing mail, and assist with various duties during the Organization’s annual conference and/or other year round courses and events. Additionally, the Receptionist assists with the appearance of the reception desk and lobby area, ensuring they stay clean and welcoming. The Receptionist must represent WVC in a professional, positive and courteous manner at all times in all interactions.


  • Answer and/or screen all incoming calls, answering inquiries as needed and/or directing them to appropriate team members
  • Greeting all visitors
  • Assisting the Human Resource Manager with various tasks, such as scheduling interviews, filing etc., as needed
  • Assist different departments with various task
  • Assist with outgoing and incoming mail, filing and/or inventory of supplies
  • Assist with team member recognition and celebration tasks
  • Assist with various housekeeping duties, such as watering plants and loading/unloading lunchroom dishwasher, making coffee, etc.

Working Hours

This position requires the ability to work a schedule in accordance with business needs. This position is required to work a routine schedule of 40 hours per week, normally consisting of 8 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday. Overtime, as preapproved by the Human Resource Manager, may be occasionally required. Additionally, this position may require working occasional weekends and holidays.

Physical Requirements and Qualifications

The daily duties of this position are not physically demanding however, the position does require sitting, standing, walking, use of fingers and hands, stooping, bending, reaching, and lifting. During various courses and events the level of activity increases and the amount of time spent standing, lifting and walking may be heavy. Clear and/or corrected vision is a requirement.
