Construction - Superintendent / Project Manager

Development Company with an extensive 40-year history and active project pipeline is seeking an experienced Construction Project Superintendent / Manager to work from our Corporate Offices in Flint Michigan.  This team member will be responsible for onsite supervision and office support for the construction of commercial new build projects ranging from 10,000 – 350,000 sf.  Infield construction management services and office work is required to handle both field operations and partial administrative services.

In-Field Responsibilities Include:

  • All field supervision, subcontractor oversight, quality control, buildout management according to plans/specifications, and related activities during active construction.
  • Field Manage all Construction Activities including the Project Build Out, Coordination of Permits, Site Inspections, Testing, Assess and Negotiate Change Orders, Review Subcontractor Pay Requests, Update Schedules and the Cost-to-Complete Reports, Ensure Scope and Drawing Compliance, Prepare Materials and Coordinate Project Progress Meetings with Subcontractors / Design Team / Ownership, Maintain and Assess all Safety Protocols, Facilitate Submittals and RFI’s.
  • Coordinate all Project Close Out Activities including the Punch-Out, Coordination and Review of all Testing Requirements, Delivery of O & M and Warranty Manuals, Facilitate Review of the As-Builts for Accuracy, Complete all Final Inspections and Obtain the Required TCO / CofO, Assess Warranty Procedures, Coordinate and Understand All Building Start-Up Requirements, Close Out all Change Orders, Assist in the Final Budget Reconciliation and Accounting Close Out.

In-Office Responsibilities Include: 

  • Project Pre Con and Pre-Development Assistance including Site Assessment, Evaluation of Existing Conditions, Participation in the AE Design Process, Evaluate Specifications and Drawings, Assist in the Creation and Review of the Project Scopes and Bid Packages, Provide Project Budgeting and Estimating Services, Verify Cost Estimates against Scope Accuracy, Coordinate the selection of Materials, Assist in the Bidding Process and Selection of Subcontractors, Offer Value Engineering Recommendations, Create and Coordinate all Construction Schedule Activities, Assess and Verify Labor Requirements, Verify Specifications and Quality Assurance, Supply Ordering and Tracking, Permitting and Inspection Coordination.


  • Previous work experience in construction superintendent and management role.
  • Knowledge of construction materials and equipment.
  • Highly organized with strong and proven leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of relevant Code, OSHA, and Safety regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal abilities, including negotiating skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of blueprint reading and speck books.
  • Digitally proficient in the use of Word, Excel, and various construction scheduling software.
  • Salary $50,000 - $100,000 / TBD.
  • Background Check is Required – many of the projects are Federal related.


  • Extensive Experience and or College / Technical School Education / Degree in related Construction Services fields.
  • Multilingual
