  • Experience building a machine that moves and requires power
  • Experience with static and modal finite element analysis (FEA)
  • Experience supporting field installation and testing of mechanical systems
  • Proficiency using Solidworks CAD software
  • Proficiency in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GDT)
  • Proficiency in component and assembly drawing generation
  • Familiarity with CAD data configuration management, large assembly management, and DWG release lifecycles
  • Experience generating and leading design reviews

Experience creating end-to-end prototypes of mechanical and optomechanical systems, including kinematic mounting and alignment of optical systems, stress and thermal mitigation, precision tolerancing, and optical error analysis is preferred. Experience testing for environmental conditions and designing and implementing hydraulic, pneumatic, closed-loop motion control, and cryogenic instrumentation systems would be a plus. Do you have excellent problem-solving and collaboration skills? Are you comfortable managing teams and leading projects? Can you clearly communicate complex technical information to a variety of audiences? Do you work well under pressure and operate with a high degree of professionalism at all times? If yes, you might just be perfect for this mechanical engineering position!
