Vultr is looking for an experienced Senior Controller for our Finance department. You will be responsible for delivering punctual, accurate and insightful deliverables from a variety of areas including but not limited to International Income and Use Tax, quarterly and annual reports, bank relationship management, subsidiary creation and management including Transfer Pricing/Taxes in conjunction with our outside accountants(KPMG). Requirements Financial Compliance – Ensure that financial reporting practices and procedures meet requirements of generally accepted accounting principles, governmental agencies and other external requirements. Lead production of all monthly, quarterly and annual reports, and be the primary point of contact for the outside audit, legal and banking relationships.
Write-up annual financial audit report along with required GAAP disclosures. Ensure multiple service stream revenue is recognized in accordance with ASC 606. Banking - Primary contact for all monthly and quarterly updates along with compliance certification to banks. Provide forecasts as needed and manage the credit facility covenants for any changes or draw downs. Business Analysis – Provide periodic and special financial analysis of actual and forecasted internal operations.
Lead monthly rolling forecasts in conjunction with non-financial metrics. Create and update business dashboards, advanced revenue analytics and data visualizations used for audits and other business efforts. Tax – Work with our accounting and other experts for domestic and global tax compliance. VAT, Use Tax, Consumption Taxes, Ongoing Nexus/PE Analysis, and keep up to date on ever changing environment throughout the world and domestically within the US. Customs / Reclaim - Lead consumption tax reclaim process for jurisdictions without a formal entity in place.
Those with an entity require a full consumption tax return to be filed. Assist deployment teams with shipments going through regulated areas (South Korea) or those with entities to minimize customs, duties and other taxes. Use tax - Manage use tax process and ensure no double taxation occurs either domestic (US) or through international customs. Consumption tax - Oversee the preparation and timely filings of GST/VAT/other consumption taxes for customers in 9 countries and 13 US jurisdictions. Monitor new regions by revenue and assets for upcoming changes and for changes (Wayfair, OECD, rates, rules) in existing tax areas.
Primary point of contact with tax agents in certain countries. Direct tax - Assist KPMG in preparing quarterly US tax estimates based on BOY forecasts. Tax filings - Oversee preparation and filing of non-federal tax returns in Canada, Japan, Taiwan, USVI, Chicago and other jurisdictions. Nexus / PE - Manage registrations in all regions with nexus or permanent establishment. Add new registrations based on statutes or new law changes. Update workers compensation, disability plans and/or other statutory requirements. Government Uniform Invoicing - Ensure compliance in Taiwan where system generated invoices are properly reported. ASC 842 - Ensure compliance with the lease accounting standard on a monthly basis.
Ensure all contracts (300+ currently) are recorded and any other embedded leases reviewed. Licensing - Oversee and review software licensing for Microsoft SPLA, cPanel, Plesk and other services by leading the preparation of monthly detailed usage reports and quarterly review of the contract terms.
