Why this role matters
Desktop & Technical Support provides day-to-day technical support to employees for infrastructure, internal systems and desktop hardware and software. We install, configure and troubleshoot systems, workstations, servers and network issues. What you will do
Install and configure desktop, workstation and peripheral devices (Windows, Mac, iPhone, iPad, Android phones and tablets, network printers, etc.).
Provide telephony hardware and software support.
Train employees in workstation and device use.
Supply first line user support for hardware, software, application operation and troubleshooting.
Manage work orders, problems or tasks within a ticket management system.
Perform system backups, ensuring they are timely, accurate, reliable and functional.
Install and update anti-virus software and with decontamination of infected systems.
Provision accounts for new users and de-provision for departing employees.
Update and maintain equipment and system inventory documentation.
Support video conference, projectors, audio-visual, printers, VoIP phones and other office infrastructure.
Support team and cross-functional projects as assigned.
What you will bring
Experience supporting Windows, Mac, notebooks, tablets, mobile devices, printers and other peripherals.
Familiarity with support processes for Microsoft Office and standard end user applications.
Familiarity with IP telephones and telephony.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
o Perform basic laptop, PC and peripheral repair.
o Provide process and procedural advice and assistance to employees and managers.
o Proactively identify and recommend steps to resolve existing and potential system issues.
o Probe beyond the stated situation to identify underlying issues and consider potential alternatives.
What is required for application
HS diploma or associate degree in computer science or related discipline.
Desktop and/or technical support or related experience (2-3 years).
