Custodial Supervisor

Based in New Jersey, US Pharma Lab, Inc. is an umbrella of established custom manufacturers which specialize in the making of dietary supplements and sports nutrition products, as well as nutraceutical/pharmaceutical raw materials, catering to the needs of industry leaders worldwide. The Custodial Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all activities within the custodial program and demonstrating and implementing safe work practices and procedures. The ideal Custodial Supervisor will be highly organized, with experience managing/supervising custodial employees in maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of buildings, offices, laboratories and furnishings as well as building entrances and exterior.

Assist in additional Facilities/Engineering administrative functions such as maintenance record keeping, cleaning programs, coordination with vendors for facility and landscaping maintenance etc..

Essential Job Functions: *

· Responsible for managing the daily sanitation operations for the facility.

· Maintaining the sanitation schedule and accomplishing scheduled and non-scheduled cleanings.

· Responsible for training, scheduling, and the efficient running of the Sanitation teams in their assigned depts. Keeping records of which sanitation employees are trained to use sanitation machines/ equipment.

· Responsible for ensuring the safe and proper use of all machinery, personal protective equipment and chemicals.

· Perform routine cleaning including vacuuming; sweeping, and mopping floors; dusting, washing walls, doors, and windows, and emptying trash. Perform minor preventative maintenance and minor repairs. Assist service personnel as needed. Reports major repair and maintenance needs.

· Empties trash bins from all locations in the cooler, grocery and loading dock, offices and break areas.

· Cross-trains in other areas to be able to support the manufacturing process as needed.

· Disassembles, cleans/ sanitizes, and reassembles all required equipment.

  • Coordinate and monitor work activities and schedules of team employees
  • Assist in the hiring, on-boarding and training of new employees
  • Compile written reports
  • Perform quality, service, and safety inspections; monitor employees for proper use of personal protective equipment, supplies, and equipment
  • Act as the conduit of information between management and front-line staff
  • Track equipment and supply inventory
  • Report employee personnel issues to manager
  • Provide corrective action recommendations on areas that need improvement
  • Maintain detailed records

· Meets all safety expectations and follows all safety practices.

· Maintain proper gowning and hygiene to ensure integrity of the product as per cGMP’s and company policies.

· Must be able to work extended work hours and weekend overtime.

· Performs all other duties as assigned by immediate manager.

Education and Experience:

· High school graduate or GED equivalent

· Minimum of 3 years work experience in janitorial, housekeeping, or facilities management

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
  • Ability to demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail
  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing (emails and reports)

Physical Requirements (lifting, etc.):

· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.; occasionally lift and move up to 75 pounds.

· Must stand and walk on production floor a minimum of 6 hours per shift

· Uses hands to finger, handle, feel, or operate objects or controls; lifting to waist height and/or above shoulder height, frequent bending from waist, or squatting, walking short distances.

· Occasionally works from a rolling ladder or step stool.

· Must be able wear all PPE including lab coat, face mask, booties, gloves, safety glasses.

Work Environment (Office, Warehouse, temperature extremes, etc.):

· Work is regularly performed inside in a manufacturing environment.

· Exposure to dust, odor, noise, and fumes.

· The noise level is usually moderate.

· Frequent standing, talking, or hearing.

· Use hands to finger, handle, feel, or operate objects or controls.
