Electronics Assembler and Hand Soldering Technician

POSITION: Operator – Hand Soldering

EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Full-Time

SHIFT: Day Shift

REPORTS TO: Head of Manufacturing

ABOUT VISIBLE ASSETS: We are a Technology company that has developed and builds a unique system of low frequency tags and readers called RuBee.   Visible Assets does its own circuit design, PCB layout, PCB assembly testing.

Visible has grown over the past 19 years due to its commitment to solving real industrial challenges with using RuBee in harsh and industrial environments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform hand soldering, including thru-hole and SMD components.   Inspection and final assembly as per Engineering specifications and IPC workmanshipstandards.

1) Ability to solder fine pitch SMD components. (This indicates ability to do fine soldering as opposed to large SMD component and through hole soldering)

2) Perform basic test using test equipment and follow test procedures.

3) Must have worked in a production/assembly environment. 

Mechanical assembly as required.

Component preparation, placement or installation.

Final assembly as required

Participate in training and certification programs to ensure job knowledge and skills set requirements are updated regularly

Participate in all team level quality improvement initiatives

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

Previous experience working on SMT/TH or Mix Tech assemblies

Solid understanding in IPC or ANSI-J technical standards

Ability to read and understand assembly documentation

Ability to hand solder, de-solder and identify solder bridging

Ability to rework printed circuit assemblies and replacing components

Ability to sit for extended periods of time

Manual dexterity; good hand to eye coordination

Basic communication skills in both written and oral English

A positive team attitude
