Job Responsibilities:

The Graphic Designer assists in the development and evolution of the design of its publications, moving from a print-centric to digital first mindset. While the bulk of the work focuses on developing digital assets, some experience with print publications would be desirable, as a few publications are print based. The Graphic Designer will create design elements and concepts from conception to final delivery, using their strong eye for aesthetics and visual details to ensure a quality final product. They will work with Creative Director and content teams to create microsites, e-newsletters, info graphics, interactive graphics, social media posts, videos, podcasts and print media that engage audiences and drive traffic.

Must Have:

  • BS/BA in Visual Design, Graphic Design, Digital Communications, or a related field
  • A minimum of 3 years’ progressive experience in graphic design, both print and digital
  • Experience working with the Adobe Creative Suite
  • Conceptual thinker and storyteller
  • Portfolio of strong work from both a design and conceptual perspective
  • Experience using metrics to drive traffic and increase engagement of digital media
  • Experience creating content such as animated videos, stills and GIFs for use on social media platforms
  • Familiarity with the publishing concepts for print and digital consumption
  • Excellent planning, project & time management, peer relationship, and collaboration skills a must
  • Must have ability to incorporate photographs, stock images, and illustrations into engaging graphics
  • An overall understanding of digital production and capabilities within digital channels and best practices for responsive design are also required
  • Ability to meet deadlines and produce high quality digital products
  • Ability to interact professionally and collaboratively with colleagues
  • Proficiency in the following:
    • Microsoft Office Suite
    • Adobe Creative Suite(print & digital applications)
    • Experience with content management systems and email marketing software, such as HubSpot
    • Experience with stock art libraries, rights, permissions, photo and video releases, source credits and licenses
    • Working knowledge of HTML5/CSS
    • Familiarity with social media platform and usages

Nice to Have:

  • Email marketing experience: designing templates in an email marketing platform (such as Hubspot) is highly desirable
  • Experience editing audio and video a plus
