Job Duties:

VIB is seeking a Government Account Manager focused on developing new customers while enhancing current customers to meet our overall goal of providing employment for Virginians who are blind. This is an outside sales and business development position requiring direct contact visits to state and federal customers. It is primarily sales driven to increase VIB's revenue while developing new business and marketing the VIB Brand. Reporting to the Director of Brand, individual will work corroboratively with other account managers, Base Supply Center managers and plant managers.

This position requires extensive travel within the Northern Virginia region.

Minimum Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have:


Outside sales experience with federal/military sales and/or procurement. Keen knowledge of VIB products and services, the federal AbilityOne Program and understanding of state and federal procurement processes.


Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both oral and written. Skills in analyzing, problem solving and exercising good judgement in critical decision making.

Ability to interpret and apply AbilityOne, federal and state procurement policies; and to workindependently conducting in-person interactions to potential and existing clients. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers, vendors, internal employees and agency employees.

Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

Additional Considerations:

Military ID card (retired, reserve, guard or spouse) to access military installations. Knowledgeable of federal and Virginia state procurement methods. (Government Purchase Card, MILSTRIP, MIPR, Electronic Virginia (eVA)). Prior experience in Maintenance, Repair, Operation (MRO), Tactical and/or Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) sales. Familiar with the federal AbilityOne program and how it applies to federal procurements. Experience working in a military environment and / or federal government environment with military and civilian personnel. Experience working with people with disabilities.
