BEHAVIORAL HEALTH MANAGER

Reports To: Behavioral Health Director
Supervises: Behavioral Health Team, Program Staff, Volunteers, Clients
Key Relationships: Program Team, Clients, Behavioral Health Interns, and Volunteers
Effective Date: January 2023
Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week, with some evening and weekend hours
Job Classification: Salary, Exempt
Compensation: $65,000 – $80,000 DOE; 401(k) plan; medical, dental & vision benefits; PTO: vacation, personal time and sick time
SUMMARY
This position is responsible to manage the Behavioral Health (BH) program delivery at two locations. They will ensure consistency and quality of program delivery for the families we serve, including adults and children who are coming from generational homelessness or are currently threatened with homelessness, and have experienced toxic stress, domestic violence, abuse and/or neglect. This role will manage the work of Therapists and Interns with VMP clients in a variety of settings; individual, family and group counseling. This role provides and manages assessments and treatment plans involving complex mental health problems. Manage, participate and teach life skills to adult clients through workshops and group gatherings. Maintain referral relationships with community partnerships.
Manage outcome planning and data entry to ensure that the Behavioral Health program delivers high quality, effective evidence-based programs to parents and their children facing homelessness. Communicate, to the Behavioral Health Director, any perceived risks or discrepancies with VMP clients.
This role is a foundational part of the success of vulnerable and homeless single-parent families reaching their goal of self-sufficiency and well-being. Due to the homelessness crisis in King county, Vine Maple Place is expanding to serve more families in need.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage and facilitate group life-skills classes on parenting and healthy boundaries for client families with a focus on holistic well-being. Plan, coordinate and communicate events.
- Manage delivery of counseling services to adults, children and families. Schedule and triage referrals for clients with substance abuse and other significant barriers. Manager will carry a caseload.
- Partner with the VMP Program Staff to identify client mental health needs and assist with care by referral, or counseling clients in individual, family or group services. Assist VMP Program Staff in communicating policies and procedures relating to the assessment, treatment and levels of care determination for clients.
- Help clients navigate the complex process of the public behavioral health system by helping them compile and complete paperwork, contact and follow up with insurance barriers and ensure reporting systems are established and implemented.
- Participate and engage in evidence-based trainings. Manage staff to attend, utilize and follow up on these evidence-based trainings.
- Maintain accurate client files and proper records according to organization, state and federal guidelines.
- Track client program progress and complete monthly and quarterly outcome data on program performance. Attend weekly VMP Program Staff meetings to report on client engagement issues and successes.
- Lead BH team in weekly clinical case evaluations, workloads and tracking-documenting client attendances using VMP data collection systems.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and agree with the Vine Maple Place Statement of Faith.
- Be passionate about helping families overcome the trauma of homelessness.
- Strong oral, written and interpersonal communications skills.
- Ability to address higher needs of clients in crisis.
- Ability to independently prioritize and organize workload and special projects to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative and exhibit flexibility.
- Possess the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
- Maintain an acceptable background check and ability to pass a drug test.
- Maintain a valid Washington state Mental Health Counselor License.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
- MA Degree in Behavioral Sciences field: LMFT, LMFTA, LMHC or LMHCA.
- Minimum three years of experience in mental health field preferred.
- Washington state approved supervisor according to WAC 246-809-134 preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Ability to use online platforms for classes.
- Comfortable with culturally-diverse populations.
- Sensitivity to the needs of clients, staff, and volunteers from diverse cultural and economic backgrounds.
