Job Description

Seeking a US Military Veteran, National Guardsman, Reservist, and/or Military Spouse to apply for a Utility Construction Superintendent. Oversee on/under-grade infrastructure projects in the Metro DC area, meet time and budget targets, keep customers happy, and oversee on-site personnel. This job requires 8+ years of civil utility experience, for excavation systems and safe work procedures, the ability to drive production, and full COVID vaccination.

Responsibilities: Veteran Military

  • Be a strong field leader, providing supervision of construction operation personnel including foreman, crews, and sub-contractors
  • Projects are all infrastructure work on and below grade (nothing above grade), particularly in utilities: water, natural gas, electric, and fiber optics
  • Ensure proper execution of projects within time constraints and budget while maintaining customer satisfaction
  • Adjust project resources, equipment, and methods as needed
  • Generate 3-week look-ahead schedule
  • Coordinate resources from vendors/subcontractors
  • Maintain a safe work environment
  • Join a highly skilled and productive workforce supported by an extensive fleet of modern equipment

Requirements

  • US Veteran, National Guardsman, Reservist or Military Spouse preferred
  • 8+ years of utility experience - very knowledgeable in civil utilities
  • Water and sewer experience preferred
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Firm understanding of excavation systems and safe work procedures
  • OSHA 10 and/or 30 preferred
  • Computer skills in Excel and Outlook preferred
  • Particular experience in pipe installation and excavation preferred
  • Successful background check, for military installation access
  • Fully vaccinated against COVID.
  • Valid, clean driving license, for use of company pickup truck, to travel to/from job sites and Laurel office
