Job Description

The Development Associate is an integral part of the development team. A successful Development Associate will build and sustain client relationships for large Donor Advised Funds (DAF) ($99+ million) to increase loyalty and retention of clients.

The job requires 5+ years’ experience in the financial services industry, with front-facing sales/ sales support, customer-service experiences, combined with financial acumen, knowledge, and expertise.

Responsibilities:

  • Use of knowledge and expertise to lead clients through account opening process
  • Increase the loyalty and retention of selected clients.
  • Provide high-end service throughout the life of the Donor Advised Fund.
  • Deliver high-end professional, responsive service to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Help qualify and usher in DAF opportunities. Assist in the development of a sales pipeline of new business.
  • Provide a high level of service to financial professional partners. Attend to inbound and outbound calls to answer inquiries and clarify how to partner with company.
  • Work with advisors and firms to research and resolve all inquiries from the account opening process through the lifetime of the fund.
  • Make decisions independently on the approach for handling inquiries, team involvement, and appropriate communications, following strategic direction, policies, and procedures.
  • Monitor business pipeline model for the team in Salesforce (CRM). Enters communications into CRM.
  • Manage daily reports and assignments through DAF opening to closing.
  • Review DAF applications: ensure service requests are completed and accurate; identify and correct errors.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree strongly preferred
  • 5+ years’ experience in the financial services industry
  • Front-facing sales or sales support experience
  • Financial acumen, knowledge, and expertise
  • Customer-service experience with relationship-building skills
  • Consultative selling skills to educate and advise
  • Strong analytical skills with high diligence and accuracy
  • Robust verbal and writing communication skills
  • Intermediate MS Office knowledge and experience
  • Collaborative team experience building trusting partnerships
  • Adaptable to change

Preferred Requirements

  • US Veteran, National Guardsman, Reservist or Military Spouse
  • Consultative selling skills to educate and advise
  • Salesforce or equivalent CRM experience
  • Passion about philanthropy
  • Collaborative experience with financial professionals
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and client service skills
  • Strong critical thinking skills and emotional intelligence
