The Position


We are a growing, dynamic software company with a talented team and a great culture. We’re looking for an enthusiastic leader that will drive the company’s growth towards long-term success. We’re looking for someone that can see the “big picture” in a variety of settings. The Managing Director will work closely with our Chief Executive Officer, North America to focus on the company’s strategic direction, growth, and culture. You’ll need to establish a great relationship with our executive leadership team, and you’ll help to set the strategic direction of the company. You’ll provide mentoring and guidance to company’s management team. As Managing Director, you’ll be responsible for modeling the company’s culture, values, and behavior.   • Provide inspired leadership company wide.
  • Develop and manage strategic direction that aligns with our corporate objectives.
  • Oversee the company’s fiscal performance, including budgeting, reporting, and auditing.
  • Oversee all sales functions in alignment with our strategic sales plan to produce desired results.
  • Oversee all other business operations in alignment with our corporate strategy.
  • Establish a strong working relationship the Chief Executive Officer, North America and the Global Chief Technology Officer.
  • Act as the primary spokesperson for the company.
  • Serve as a business representative at major industry events as needed (travel as required).
  • Provide guidance, direction, and mentoring to the leadership team.
  • Review financial and non-financial reports to devise solutions or improvements.
  • Build relationships with and act as a point of contact for key stakeholders.
  • Analyze problematic situations and provide solutions to ensure company survival and growth.
  • Enforce adherence to legal guidelines and in-house policies to maintain the company’s legality and business ethics.
  • Maintain a deep knowledge of the markets and industry of the company.
  • Work with the leadership team to model and enrich the corporate culture.
  • Help to create an environment that promotes strong performance and positive morale.


  • At least 7+ years' senior leadership experience; preferably at least 3+ years as an operational executive.
  • Experience in developing profitable strategies and implementing vision.
  • A history of successful revenue growth.  
  • Experience directly managing P&L operations in a software business of at least $10M.
  • Strong understanding of corporate finance and performance management principles.
  • In-depth knowledge of corporate governance and general management best practices.
  • Experience with direct and partner licensed software sales.
  • Experience with software development cycles, custom services delivery, and support management.
  • Ability to develop and mentor a management team. 
  • Ability to build consensus and relationships among executives, partners, and others.
  • Ability to inspire confidence and create trust.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and sound judgement.
  • Excellent communication and public speaking skills.
  • Experience with consultant relations would be preferable.
  • Experience with local government markets would be preferable.
  • Experience with the telecommunications industry would be preferable.
  • Knowledge of GIS, the Esri ecosystem, the geomatics industry, and/or internet mapping is desirable.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred
