    The Remote Project Manager- Transport Engineer at Vertex Innovations, Inc. is responsible for:

    The Remote Project Manager - Transport Engineer is a remote role supporting projects throughout the United States. Candidate will coordinate daily activities with client personnel and interface daily with client Vendors, General Contractors and Sub-Contractors. A transport engineer's responsibilities include training, performance monitoring, planning, analyzing, and more general administrative duties to ensure that employees are working effectively and efficiently. If you enjoy working on a high volume of projects while mentoring and training staff and you have the skills required to complete complex telecommunication construction projects, this opportunity may be for you. Telecommunications experience is required. A transport engineer manages multiple projects, and sometimes multiple programs.

    Job Description:

    • Responsible for the delivery of circuits from cradle to grave.
    • Act as Project Manager providing leadership, oversight and reporting to internal and external stake holders.
    • Submitting RFQs for both LIT services and DF (PT to PT, CRAN and Small Cells).
    • Accepting and negotiating Contracts; Service Orders / LROs.
    • Managing vendor purchase orders and receipt of work submissions.
    • Overseeing amendments and cancellations of service orders or LROs.
    • Will be responsible for submitting ASR’s with multiple Telco Vendors.
    • Have experience coordinating/tracking circuit delivery with technicians, engineers, other team members and vendors, and issuing change orders/ disconnects circuits, as needed.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    Required Skills:

    • Experience using Granite/Xng System, including working knowledge of Paths, Segments, Sites, Equipment and Work Order screens.
    • Strong knowledge of LEC & ILEC telephony networks and practices.
    • Experience working National Carriers like Verizon highly preferred
    • The candidate must have CLR & DLR experience.
    • Tracking the delivery of circuits and escalating as needed.
    • Troubleshooting skills in response to outages, design issues, network flaws, etc.
    • You must have working experience with and be proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point, etc.
    • Experience in submitting ASRs or OneFiber consumption orders.
    • Be able to read and understand floor diagrams, CIQs and SMRs.
    • Strong analytic, interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Have in-depth working experience with transport network facilities design including:
      • SONET - OCx Ring Designs.
      • CRAN Designs – Rings and DF to the site (PT to PT or CRAN BBU).
      • Entrance facilities / Inter-office facilities (IOF) / Ethernet Backhaul.
      • Allocating customer facilities assignment (CFA).
      • LIT Services, assigning VLANs.
      • Knowledge of Microwave services.
      • Working knowledge of iDAS Systems / In Building.
      • 4G & 5G networks.
      • Ability to teach and train team/SME
      • Act as a Team Lead

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to frequently inspect the project and may be exposed to ongoing construction and various weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment may range from moderate to loud.

    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

    This full-time position is exempt. Days and hours of work may fluctuate based on needs of the client and the project. Minimum work requirement is 40 hours each week, project may require longer hours and “maintenance window” work, which is considered night shift.

    Travel Requirement

    Flexibility to travel on an as needed basis as required by projects
