Job Summary:
Provide Operational Excellence support and project completion for global, regional or division projects. Support the culture shift to a structured problem-solving approach by developing the capability within manufacturing, administrative groups and Leadership through training, mentoring and coaching. Coordinate and execute strategic planning, including goal, objective and project development in the operations and functional groups. Identify and completes project focused on simplifying activities, increase profits and improving critical processes as required to improve customer satisfaction while achieving business financials. Assure that production and transaction processes are repeatable and capable of meeting specifications. Provide methods of reliably and data integrity reporting on the status of improvement metrics.
Responsibilities:
Role Specific Responsibilities:
- Provide a minimum 2x annual investment in hard dollar savings
- Participate in the development and support of the Vertellus Operational Excellence system with the goal of sustaining operational standards
- Support a culture of Lean and Continuous Improvement throughout all site process
- Ensure the consistent and uniform application of OPEX tools at the site including, LDMS, 5S, VSM, TPM, Standard Work, Visual Management, Gemba and more
- Teach, coach and mentor in problem solving methods, PDCA, A3, DMAIC RCA including LSS Yellow Belt certifications
- Facilitate kaizen events identified to meet cost savings targets and other improvement objectives
- Develop robust, capable systems necessary to achieve the strategic goals and objectives
- Provide technical problem-solving methodology and team facilitation guidance through, training, coaching, and mentoring to improve leaders and manufacturing teams
- Support other activities as assigned based on business needs
- Conforms to and abides by all regulations, policies, procedures, instructions, and safety rules.
- 20% minimum travel

- Reports all Health, Safety and Environmental accidents, incidents and near misses promptly

- Assists in the training, mentoring and assessment of other team members

Qualifications/Desired Skills:
Education and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or recognized equivalent
Experience:
- 5 years of experience in a manufacturing/production environment
- 3 years of related experience in Lean Manufacturing Principles required
- Prior manufacturing experience in the chemical processing industry preferred
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or Master Black Belt certification
- Ability to interface with all departments and team member levels
- Computer skills required include MS Office, Minitab, EngineRoom, Visio or other statistical software
- SAP experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to adapt quickly to changing business needs and priorities
- Displayed high levels of flexibility and adaptability
- Displayed bias for action and ability to complete projects
- Experience with SAP and Microsoft office applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.,
- Ability to work within a multi-functional, global organizational structure and exhibits robust interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated and able to work within a fast-paced environment
- Critical thinking skills and analytical abilities allow assessments of situations and opportunities
