Job Description

VERSA PRODUCTS INC is hiring for a full-time, experienced Manufacturing Production Planner who is comfortable working with in a cooperative environment and displays excellent forecasting and planning skills. We are primarily a metal fabricating facility, that will produce several hundred finished products per day. Our manufacturing floor is 75,00 sqft with some of latest technology in laser cutting and bending. Production Planner

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate production workflow for multiple products

  • Plan and prioritize operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay

  • Determine manpower, equipment and raw materials needed to cover production demand

  • Decides how much inventory to keep on hand to limit changeovers and sanitation cleanings in the production areas

  • Forecasts how much product should be made to fulfill weekly demand from stores by analyzing trends and considering such factors as promotions, price reductions, seasonal demands, holidays, and weather conditions

  • Creates schedules for the production lines in manufacturing plants, considering many factors such as equipment specifications, product allergens, and raw material availability

  • Assign workers and other staff to particular production operations

  • Schedule shift according to production needs

  • Monitor jobs to ensure they will finish on time and within budget

  • Address issues when they arise aiming for minimum disruption

  • Obtain output information (supply chain, number of finished products, percentage of defectives etc.)

  • Prepare and submit status and performance reports

  • Collaborate with quality control, shipping and other staff

  • Use SAP to view material movements, quantities on order, and the current balance on hand

  • Creates orders to receive manufactured product into SAP

 

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Production Operations Knowledge – has a firm understanding of a typical manufacturing facility; terms, and associated industrial workings including key items such as: automated and manual fabrication, assembly lines/processes, line balancing, OEE mentality, error proofing/poke yoke, and lean manufacturing principles.

  • Background in production control, operations, and/or supply chain

  • General understanding of how the manufacturing validation process runs in relation to introduction of new products or processes (methodology, validation plans, scheduling, associated KPIs)

  • Interpersonal skills dealing with all levels of an organization

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Versed with common workplace software (Microsoft Office Suite, etc.). Excellent organizational skills.

  • Able to be a creative thinker and devise clever solutions to everyday problems. We encourage that!

  • Familiar with problem-solving techniques and ability to apply them

  • Team player; ability to work in an upbeat, multi-cultural environment with cross-functional teams.

  • Previous experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) desired

  • Previous experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems is beneficial (SAP, Oracle, etc)

  • Minimum of two (2) to five (5) years in a similar capacity coupled with the demonstration of exceptionable ability to succeed

  • Working towards or having a technical degree or similar training in Supply Chain, Business, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline is a bonus

  • Being self-driven, motivated, and ambitious is a MUST.

  • Applicant will be subject to passing a drug screening and background check
