The Learning and Development Consultant will develop training curriculums and deliver in-person and web training to external clients/customers for all products and systems of the Government Solutions business across the United States. This position will require travel up to 50%-75% of the time. The L&D Consultant must be a professional who is extremely articulate and quick thinking with good judgment. Candidate must apply a comprehensive and in-depth working knowledge of business training concepts, practices, processes and procedures to a complex range of assignments. Candidate must be able to work independently, with minimal guidance from management. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who keeps on top of company, industry and client developments and have a flair for engaging audiences.
+ Perform consultation with internal partners and clients and apply training needs analysis to develop a training plan which ensures training is appropriate and impactful. This consultation process is critical to providing training that leads to success.
+ Gather information from multiple resources in order to understand the client's program and processes.
+ Review, understand, and adhere to federal, state, and local legislation and contractual requirements that impact clients' processes and operation of their program.
+ Design and develop customized training curriculum including presentations, user guides, and workflows.
+ Training materials that are developed must be kept current and accurate, so regular maintenance is required.
+ Deliver training to external clients and successfully meet the established training objectives.
+ Training delivery will be handled professionally and according to the training plan, utilizing adult facilitation techniques to set up, run, and manage a class of multiple individuals for up to 5 days at a time.
+ At the conclusion of training, evaluate the training success and learn from feedback to constantly improve the training experience.
+ Build effective client relationships and proactively engage customers of training.
+ Provide VOC to Product Managers.
+ Understanding and adhering to all company policies, including T&E, and submitting expense reports on time.
+ Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with 3+ years related experience in the learning & development field, specifically the development and delivery of training solutions.
+ Experience in instructional design and development of training materials.
+ Excellent adult facilitation skills.
+ Experience facilitating web-based training.
+ Must present a professional appearance.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written forms; explain technical concepts in non-technical terms to individuals in both in person and online environments.
+ Ability to work in teams, but also a self-starter and demonstrates initiative, working independently with minimum supervision.
+ Strong general consulting, analysis, and problem-solving skills with great attention to detail.
+ Ability to exercise good judgment, manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt quickly to frequently changing business needs.
+ Advanced skills in MS programs Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio and Office 365.
+ Strong organizational skills.
+ Ability to travel 50%-75% of the time.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
+ Experience designing and managing eLearning.
+ Experience with Learning Management Systems and/or Content Management Systems.
